Ferrari 250 GTE 1962

One of Ferrari's most successful models with 953 made between 1960 and 1963 and also Enzo Ferrari's personal choice of transportation the 250 GTE was a luxury 2+2 with plenty of room for luggage. The 2,953 cc V12, fed by three carbs developed 240bhp and fitted with the standard 4 speed plus overdrive gearbox could reach 140mph.

From 1962 to 1968 a Ferrari 250 GTE was used as a Police Interceptor in Rome driven by a very rapid Officer called "Spatafora". He was so fast that when he attended his training at the factory Enzo offered him a job as a racing driver!

Hopefully the game would give us the option of the standard car and under the custom parts - the police lamp, siren and livery of the Squadra Mobile Police Car.

Interesting comment JKgo. The Ferraris main competition would be the Lagonda Rapide powered by the same engine as the Aston Martin DB5 (non-vantage spec engine). The Lagonda was slightly less sporting with a 130mph top speed and supreme comfort for 4 adults rather than 2 adults and 2 children for the Ferrari. I would love to have these two in the game to race / cruise against each other
