The Ferrari 400i is a 2+2 Coupe car produced by Ferrari and designed by Pininfarina . Launched in 1976 as the successor of the Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 , of this car where produced a total of 524 exemplars . The 400i kept the same chassis and the position of the mechanical "organs" of the 365 GT4 .
The 400i was the first Ferrari to have an automatic gearbox . In the 1985 the 400i was replaced by the Ferrari 412 estabilishing a record : The 400i is the car with the longest production period of the Ferrari's history (1976 to 1985 , 9 years) .
The engine , a tradictional V12 @ 60degrees was designed by Gioacchino Colombo
