Just had an amazing, possibly once in a lifetime experience, friend of my dads races GT3 cars (458 in particular) and he was at one of the local tracks, and I got to have a ride.

Mind blowing to put it lightly.

Obviously the force of the car braking, and around corners, not the mention the sound, impossible to capture, especially on a budget rig like mine, but it got me wondering, can I re-create the car?

It had a 6-speed single clutch, less power than the stock 458 but much much lighter, and more aero bits, no idea the exact power rating, might be a GT3 spec limit (for that car?) have done no research, just wondering if others have been able to replicate it at all, or atleast how close I can get.

Probably can if you had a good quality tune. If you head over to the tuning section and do a search, you can probably find a decent tune.

There's a hundred tunes, and it turns out you can't really, I put on all of the aero gear, and its not quite enough, even with the massive spoiler (correct) front aero (correct), its not quite the same, reducing power to 550BHP is fine, but getting it to achieve that up high isn't as easy, also the note isn't quite right, but that might just be the game, it's pretty close.

Anyway, quite fun to have a fully aero'd 458, then try beating it with the MP4-12C, and I did after a good tune for that car, but only when I was pushing to the absoloute maximum, and then by only .3 seconds, at Grand Valley

I've tried making a few gt3'esque cars in gt5 with varying degrees of success, most the time you need to turn the power down but weight can be tricky as I believe in gt3 cars have ballast added or taken away during the season as a penalty, anyway the cars usually turn out to be fun even if they're not true gt3 class cars, my favorite would have to be my mp4-12c. 👍

Send me a PM and I will share this car. You can copy the specs and build your own. It's a replica of the real car and builded by jeep2008.

Probably not possible. I know for sure you'll only ever get a GT1 or GT2 car via RM. You won't be able to replicate GT3 aerodynamics, and none of the GT5 chassis or suspension tuning will turn a road car into a race car, though the 458 is pretty good as is.

The best you can do is a look a like. Performance wise, you're honestly better off taking a Corvette Z06 RM and playing with weight and HP. Maybe a NSX Super GT or RM.

I looked up the Grand Am regulations and did the best I could to replicate the Risi Grand Am Rolex series car, I did end up getting lap times on par with what they were running at Daytona for the 24h. I can post the tune later tonight.
