So, just bought my first Ferrari in the game. And yes it is the 458 Italia. I test drove it at the SSR7. My god that thing looks too gorgeous. Drives gorgeous. It is very well implemented in the game. Just beautiful. Just until i went changing through gears. I was very disturbed by the transmission being a single clutch not dual clutch transmission. How did they miss it? like holy moly i was blown away. They just killed it.

Any one else got bothered by this issue? Are we expecting fixes for glitched premium cars? Because i certainly hope this issue is concedered as a glitch.

I was wondering why we could install twin clutch on the 458 when it already has one... That explains it.

Completelely different concept. A dual clutch transmission seperates the gearsets into even and odd numbers onto seperate shafts within the transmission. Each shaft has it's own clutch. When you are in first gear for example the transmission already has second selected waiting to be engaged, two to three and so on. This enables the transmission to shift extremely quickly(in milliseconds).

So, what your saying is that because of the shifts being slower than you expect, the car doesn't have a dual-clutch?

Slower than i expect? Dude it shifts much slower than real life. Much much slower. Slower than a real f430.

Aah, gotcha. Well, my GTR doesn't have its' dual clutch either....in my opinion.

I can't see PD considering this a 'glitch,' though.

Breaking out of the Sarthe track? Glitch

Transmission not shifting to your standards? Not so much of a glitch.

Yeah it would be a modeling error. I guess it wouldn't be too bad if limited to only a few cars, but the list seems to be growing if all the above is true:

458 - transmission
GT-R - transmission
Viper ACR - suspension and aerodynamics
S7 - aerodynamics? (from what I've heard anyway, the car model was abysmal in GT4, so it wouldn't surprise me if the S7 drove like the real car's polar opposite in GT5).

So based on this we should also complain that the stick shift cars shift too quickly.

More players never have driven a real Ferrari then ther are actual Italia's

98% will never know the difference (including me).

@ Anes: Thank for helping me to decide what Ferrari to get first :sly:

Use a G25 or G27...problem solved

i think thats a yes.......... LOL.. I love internet car 'geniuses'

Exactly!

I was actually using the GTR example as a joke, not that anyone would notice.

OR we could use the illustrious GTP canned answer....."Then don't play the game and go away!"

Ding Ding Ding!

See, I've driven a 458 before... shift times are comparable.

Breaking out of Sarthe?

Add '06 Eclipse GT transmission to your list. It still has the same incorrect gear ratios from 4th and 5th gear. Like they are the same ratio, no drop in rpm.

This was in gt4 and they still didn't fix it. :grumpy:

Breaking out of Sarthe?

Theres a thread/youtube video somewhere on here showing that one can drive outside the track surface at Sarthe. Like, under the track. :boggled:

But yeah, THAT is a glitch.

PS. Please, lets not make this a thread where people claim they 'own a 1974 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino, and the car in the game doesn't have the correct headlamp bulbs.'

I say just pay the <5,000 cr for the transmission upgrades and be done with it. The real life 458 Italia burst into flames a few times, too, doesn't do that in GT5 either.

That was some glue that kept getting too hot or something!

The Samba bus isn't very accurate these days. A real lap of the TGTT would take 3 hours in that thing due to breakdowns.

And how many people here have driven a 458? Few

But how many people have read about/watched someone who writes articles for a car magazine/Jeremy Clarkson driving a 458?
