AFAIK GTS has the older 458 GT3

Right, the 2013 version of the 458 GT3 and two other versions of the 458 "Italia" in Brand Central. But the replacement 488s are very different and by no means new, coming out in 2015, & the GT3 had its first race in 2016. They've become ubiquitous in world-wide racing, like the Blancpain in khaaki's picture above.
Your cheer almost got one there just the day before yesterday at the Daytona 24 hour- it took pole in qually but failed win the weather shortened race. But they've won their share, including enduros, like the 2017 Bathurst. Won by a 488 GT3 the same race had been won back in 2014 by a 458 GT3. (Yeah, you're right, elderly tifosis don't keep all this stuff in their heads. Wikipedia's on the next tab.)
But the 488 is an altogether different animal, built around a turbo-charged engine, than the NA 458.
