Ferrari 512BB tyre question

So, I love my 512, it's beautiful, fast, sounds great (Thanks Kaz!) but it seems to eat tires. Both me and BSpec Barry end up with smoking tyres after 2-3 laps of anywhere, on hard sport tyres. I don't get anywhere near that wear with any other car, has anyone else noticed this, or am I just fail at driving Ferraris?
 
I havnt raced more than 3 laps with that car yet. Im still trying to figure out how to get my Magnum PI soundtrack to play during the replay to go along with the car. Yes, I know its not the exact model, but it looks close enough.
 
Yeah, it's a great car, I just can't get more than a couple laps out it!
