I'm inlove with this car. I suggest you guys to do this. Pick it, set the FF to high, view point from in-car (the sound is jaw-dropping), take all assists off, and if you have a G25 I would recommend you to set the gears to be used in the shifter. And then go for a very relaxed lap around Monza.

When I say "very relaxed" I really mean it. Just enjoy the car ... it is an awesome drive. After you did that, go for some fast laps, you'll enjoy it even more 👍

PS - Don't forget to turn the TV sound as high as in your home you are allowed to :D

It's lovely. I really enjoy driving it. Very quick, fantastic brakes, good grip. So nice that you tend to forget the limits of late 60s suspension technology. So just don't do any curb riding or suffer the (immediate) consequences. :)

Yeah nice car though monza in the wet (why can't I see anything), infinion (oh oh I'm airborne again) and Paul Ricard were a little extreme last night, I actualy pulled over on paul ricard to let the field through as it spent most of the time welded to my back spoiler as I acted as a rolling (slideing) road block. LOL

Do you sleep at all jjaisli?

You're asking this?!

The 512LM is kind of a fun car, BUT not good for online races with a big grid IMO. Very fast but with dodgy suspension (as jjaisli says) makes for some very unpredictable racing, especially when you throw in frame rate issues. (I know, I know: Mario wants to pretend he's Steve McQueen! ;)

Don't know what happened at Ricard: the game gave me an unusually big lead at the start & then you guys just fell further & further behind. I assume you were smacking into each other back there! :D

My first race (at Montreal) was terrible, because I kept getting rear-ended by everyone. I was braking really early because I have recently been driving the 250 LM, which takes about 400 m to slow down!

I would love to try some races with the 250 LM (also GTO - which I don't have, & the 250 Testarossa). It really takes a lot of focus to drive & keep on the road, especially after driving the more modern race cars. But the slower speed means we might be able to have some great online races.

I got kicked out of the lobby twice last night: in both cases it looked like everybody else had been kicked out, but when I exited the lobby, I saw "another" lobby with everyone else still "in game"! :(

:indiff: Yeah, sometimes I wonder. My wife is sick so I was sort of 'on call' which is why I cut out rather early last night. And my daughter woke up from a nightmare this morning at 4:00 am. After I calmed her down she was asleep in 5 minutes. I couldn't go back to sleep myself though and here I am. :grumpy:

The first race last night with the 512M was at Misano. It's been a while since I drove that car--you tend to forget all your braking points and the handling characteristics. I spent the first 3 laps just bouncing around over the curbs like a ball. Montreal was OK. I was able to maintain a good 6 second lead for 3 laps and then I made a mistake which cost me a few second. Then I started taking chances to keep the gap up and it all went down hill from there.

Thanks again for pulling over at Spa but it was really my own fault. I screwed up the exit of Au Rouge and saw you coming really fast and was trying to make way for you, put a wheel on the grass and it was all over. I don't think you touched me. But I appreciate the gesture. If people continue to pull over for me every time I make an error I may actually have a chance.

But what was with the bloody Italian Opera the whole race? Geez.

The very first on-line race I had (in Nov after the NTSC patch came out) was with this car. My entire experience with the 250LM at that point was one single lap after I unlocked it. To which my reaction was something like, "...whoa...:nervous:". Done. I didn't even intend to race. I just entered the first lobby I saw to check it out and see how it would work. (It was my first on-line race with any racing game period). As soon as I came in the host clicked ready. I wasn't even paying attention, just checking settings and trying to explore the menus. Next thing I know I'm heading toward Au Rouge. I went to turn, the car didn't and smash. Doh! By the time I got to Blanchimont he had pulled over to the side and was just waiting for me. He was probably sitting there for 15 seconds. Since then I never had the guts to show my face in any lobby with that car. But I'd like to think I've improved a lot since then. Maybe I'll give it another go (off line first). ;)

And I wondered what happened to you leaving the lobby. I guess the rest of us were OK though. Hopefully everything will be OK tonight.

Yea i hate to see when people are disconnected by accident or join the lobby just a little bit too late! I think in the future i will return to lobby and restart as a good will gesture. I noticed SimCoe returned while we racing a couple times and i felt bad but i didnt want to restart in case it annoyed everyone else!

This is why i need to get a mic which ill try to do at the end of the month! There may have been times when i bumped people last night but obviously it was not intentional and i always tried to give way. The PSN typing system is crap so sorry for any future mishaps :dunce:

Great racing last night though fellas i really had the most fun so far with this game online. Monza in the wet was intense. I had Hun in my mirror every second really pressuring me until he hit a wall but even then he was catching up with every lap he was damn quick. Actually everyone was quick. My lap times are slightly below standard i think, maybe because i use a control im not sure but it will only make me better in the long run! And Ricard and Misano were great as well. Infineon was just horrible i kept forgetting the track!

See you tonight anyway 👍

Edit: Can i ask you guys at what point you unlocked the 360 and 250? Because the last time i unlocked any new cars was ages ago, and its not because i havnt been playing, they just dont seem to be unlocking i have done many arcade races and trophys....these are the 2 cars i want the most.

Danjana, I believe each car has a different way of unlocking it. Most if not all have more than one way of winning them. I don't remember most of them but for the 360GT, you go to the European challenge and win the first race. Take the car that you win from that race (berlinetta?) to the trophy race and win that one. I think what happens when you win a trophy race but don't get car, is that you already have the car that you were supposed to win from that race.

Nah ... Steve's car was the "enemy" of this one, he was driving a car I really hope to drive someday (in a racing game of course) ... the 917K

I couldn't tell if we touched or not and, "in doubt", I always wait. I had done Eau Rouge* flat out and came up to you very quick, the overtake itself happened on the slight right hand corner before the long straight. But my wheel (with the deadzone problem we PAL guys have) becomes very unstable in situations like this and I was just trying to keep the car on the tarmac, overtake, do the corner, not touch you ... when I saw you going off in my rearview mirror I guessed it should've been my fault.

As I told Biggles last night, the deadzone issue doesn't prevent me from driving normally if I have the track to myself. However, overtaking is very hazardous and last night everytime I started a race at the back, I ended at the back also. Messing up my race (but not others, I avoid it if I can)whenever I was close enough to attempt overtaking. So, if ou noticed, my laptimes were alright, but my finishing positions were all (except in Monza) at the back of the field.

*funny you guys call it Eau Rouge I always called that sequence of corners the "Radillon", and I'm not the only one apparently:

it must be like the "Hunaudiéres" straight in Le Mans, english speakers call it Mulsanne straight, when in fact Mulsanne is the corner at the end.

"Our" Monza wet race was great - one of the best I had so far - and you showed great resistance to constant pressure. A great victory for you, congratulations! 👍

Acording to my experience, for every trophy you win - winning all three races - you get a car. Also, for every Challenge weekend you win - winning both races - you get a car. Until they're all unlocked, of course, after that you just race for fun or credits to buy the 333 (I still don't have it because my credits account is too low for it).

On the unlocking subject: I unlocked every car (I think), except the GTO by doing the Challenges. I have only completed a couple of the Trophy events, because I went on to race online instead of against the AI.

This morning I had a series of races online with the 250 LM a very fast Frenchman, dandan6017 & my German buddy, krufti. We had some pretty good races. Although krufti was somewhat disgusted with the car, he didn't do that badly. Dandan was significantly faster than me, but had a tendency to run off the track. A lot of fun IMO & quite different from racing with one of the "modern" cars.

Ok i will get to the european events then, i am on the last race of the italian events. I suppose it doesnt bother me too much how i get them as long as i do. I was starting to get paranoid that the game was holding them back from me :)

It was all the cars work hun lol the brakes on that thing are terrific. i'm scared to change to first gear in it though the wheels just spin and spin! Also as said the suspension is brilliantly ancient, and i had great fun controlling that car off of the curbs!
