Harking back to a bygone era when cars ran without sponsorship decals, Ferrari adopted plain Italian red with a black nose-cone at Monza in 2001. The race marked the first Grand Prix weekend following the terrorist attacks on September 11, with many teams altering their liveries in order to pay their respects. The Ferrari design was the most poignant however, with the beautiful bare red reminding the world that a show of solidarity was worth much more than the words and logos of corporate marketing.
