I picked up a copy for $6 finally after trying to find this game used. I'm a collector of almost all things Ferrari & I'm wondering if anyone else has this game? I know it's not the best racing sim but its fun & so far it works with my DFP. If so, has anyone play with the car set ups & found something that works well? One thing I can't stand is no brake mods. (the GT series has spoiled me) Any thoughts on this game?

i have this game since 2,5 years or so

i first played the came in a arcade hall 8 years ago when it was far ahead of its time (gameplay and graphics) comparing to other arcade games / simulators

i quite like the ps2 game

i dont like the driving challange so much (dunno how its called, its the mode where you have to drive 'nice' and get point, the idea is good but somehow i dont like it that much)

the other modes are quite fun
i only played it with the DFP once, wasnt that good as driving in the arcade hall but still quite fun

i am not into car setups so i cant help you there

I have the Dreamcast version and I haven't played it again for quite sometime. But I do remember that the engine sound is pretty good, handling is pretty tight, but the best thing is the Fiorano test circuit featured in it. It's a good game, this.

Probably it is the only game so far that has Fiorano.

Can't really help you on the setups though, sorry.

Ferrari F355 was, in my mind, the definative racing sim along with Viper Racing until Wolfe2X7 pointed me towards the more recent computer games. I must admit, though, that it was best in the arcade. On the PS2 with (and only with) the DFP, it is about equal to the Dreamcast redition, probably because of the hardware differences between the PS2 and Noami 2 arcade board.

I have it, it's freakin' hard though, and I play GTR and LFS regularly.

It's definitely one of the best sims on the PS2 as far as driving physics go and the fact that for a game so old has pretty good ai that you can't pass on the first lap.

I don't play it that much because it's not worth playing with a controller and I don't use my wheel much.

I played it a couple of times and seem to remember liking it. Was this the game in which you came to almost a complete stop if you grazed the wall? That was fustrated me a bit.

There is like one circuit with walls and you shouldn't be hitting them anyway.

Ok two if you count the motegi oval.

The best possible solution to your problem is don't hit the walls.

WJHMH, where did you find the game that cheap used? I've been looking around for it for quite a while now. It's a great game at the arcade at least. Thanks!

I love playing this game at the local arcade. It was the only game with a working clutch and 6 gate shifter, triple monitor setup, and decent physics. 👍
