There has been some Fantastic racing on Fuji 600pp the last couple of nights, with tight, clean races and more GTP drivers than you can shake a stick at (GTP_SimcoeAce, TurismoZ, GTP_Vanos, GTP_Slicecom, GTP_DigitalRelay, GTP_CWR, GTP_WallRunner and lots more). Last night, the Ferrari looked like the car to beat and it turned into an impromptu F430-fest for a little while. The Ferrari gave the folks switching over from the R8 a bit of trouble, and since my car seemed to be pretty well sorted, I thought I'd post my setup.

Power: 394 hp/-13
Weight: 1348 kg/93%
Ride Height: 0/-30 (thanks GTP_L_Hamilton and GTP_Slicecom)
Spring Rate: 5/5
Damper: 4/4
Toe: 0.00/-0.15
Camber: 1.5/1.0
Brake Balance: 6/4
Max Turning Angle: 45
Traction: 0
ABS: 1
Final gear: 3.970

A few notes (here's a track map for corner reference): The gearbox is setup as a 5-Speed (unless you get a good tow down the main straight). The car responds well to being (gently) pitched into turns 3 and 13 with a bit of lift-off oversteer. I'm not really happy with the way the car handles through turn 10 and 11. With the long gearing, 2nd gear bogs down, but 1st gear has wheelspin if you're not careful.

Edit:
Just saw that GTP_WonderWiley has posted his Ferrari F430 @ Suzuka 600pp setup. I haven't tried it, but I can say from personal experience (i.e. watching him pull off into the distance) that it's certainly fast in the right hands.

As one of the R8 drivers having a difficulty with the switch, thanks for the setup. I'll give it a try later tonight to see how it went.

I'm having lots of fun pulling my hair out over the lift-off overteer issue with most of the MR cars on S2 tires.

As graceful as I try to be on the throttle, I'm forever spinning out.

How are other people dealing with this, particularly on the 430? I really don't want to stay in the ranks with the 4WD drivers forever.

Lift oversteer is not realy the problem with the F430, the main problem is front end grip, the rear of the car is actualy very stable, try my setup, see if that helps

Thanks...I'll give it a try. Right now, I'm relying on TCS set to 2 to keep my ass end stuck down. The big problem corners on Fuji seem to be the hairpin, and the last corner - the latter being a big problem since it's killing my corner exit speed prior to the straightaway.
