Ferrari FXX K '15

This is the new Ferrari FXX K, a harder, track-focused version of LaFerrari with more power, race-inspired styling and even more tech.

The FXX K name refers to the car's KERS kinetic energy recovery system, which works in conjunction with the standard car's 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine to produce a total system output of 1021 hp and more than 664lb ft of torque. That's 71 hp more than the standard LaFerrari, with 835bhp coming from the V12 engine and 188 hp from the electric motor.

Ferrari hasn't revealed any performance data for the McLaren P1 GTR rival, but expect improvements on the LaFerrari's 0-100km/h sprint time of less than three seconds, as well as its 350 km/h-plus top speed. As with LaFerrari, drive is channeled through a seven-speed paddle-shift dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The FXX K measures 194mm longer and 59mm wider than the LaFerrari, at 4896mm and 2051mm respectively, but shares the same height of 1116mm as well as its 2650mm wheelbase.

Stylistically, the FXX K looks like a race-inspired evolution of LaFerrari's shape. A new twin-profile spoiler and large splitter – which is 30mm lower than on LaFerrari and includes a central gap to channel air flow– can be seen at the front. This works in conjunction with the larger side sills running down the flanks of the car to stop air gathering underneath.

At the rear, a large, twin-pronged permanent spoiler features alongside a secondary mobile spoiler which can extend on the move. The distinctive shape of the rear is designed to boost downforce, and is helped by the new rear diffuser.

Ferrari says this has helped improve downforce by 50 per cent compared to LaFerrari, resulting in the FXX K producing 540kg of downforce at 200 km/h.

Key changes made to the LaFerrari's V12 engine include new camshafts, a modified valve train, redesigned intake manifolds, and the use of mechanical rather than hydraulic tappets. The car's exhaust system has also been modified.

Nah, the other thread is for people to vote for the test mule. Just like GT6 has the test versions of the Corvette C7 and Nissan GT-R. :sly:

No, no, no ... when the thread was made, no photos were available except a rendering and the spy photos.
The official pictures where just released.
But anyway it's not my business, good luck!

If you ask me this is the legit thread for the FXXK. I feel like the other was made in hopes of an XX version coming (which for good reason was expected). I don't think Ferrari had even announced that there would be an XX version yet when it was created. Also the spy photos of the camo car on Ferrari's test track were posted in November and the thread was created in May. Not to mention the thread has the wrong title for the car and still the wrong pictures for it (in terms of including the camo pictures).

Neatly illustrating why we've been keen not to allow threads for cars that don't actually exist yet.
Mods, please merge these threads. Both @Tsukishima and @CORRUPTEDDISC did a good job collecting info and pics and it would be a shame to lock one away...:)
How are "mods" supposed to know to do this unless you... I don't know... tell one of them about it?

In any case, no. One thread will stay as the test car, the other as the actual car. Any objections will be noted for the next time someone creates a thread suggesting a car that doesn't exist yet.

First it wasn't expected, it was already started before the thread was made in May .... Ferrari started this FXX project begin 2014 and testing began in May this year (as you can verify I posted spy photos (camo La Ferrari) on 15th of May.

In February Antonello Coletta become the head of Ferrari's XX-programme, and he already said that Ferrari will come with a FXX hybrid track car in 2015. Where did he said this? In Sydney Australia 2014 during the Ferrari Racing Days.

The spy photos from the official released FXX as it now is (body work) has been posted in 21th of Nov.
This thread was made on 3th of December.

The Ferrari track car was no public secret since April 2014 and all track cars have the XX extension in their name.
Like 599XX, Enzo was also FXX and this one FXX too plus the K (Kinetic = in fact an alternative to a hybrid system).
Although this car is not called La Ferrari FXX it definitely based on the La Ferrari as expect to be.

And final this thread has also the wrong title!

As far as I concern, CORRUPTEDDISC is the legit thread, but that is only my opinion.

Yes it is the same car.
Look to the camouflage photos from QUATROROUTE.

That's some serious camo, who would know what their testing. :D Has no chance to be in GT though, PD under contract to include atleast 5 new GTRs per season.

But the other thread has not been updated at all to include the camo cars. This thread's title is closer than the other one. Besides Famine already said that this is the real thread so whatever we say is benign

Yes, I read what Famine wrote .... and finally it's up to him.
I rest my case.
