Welcome to the first season of the Ferrari Challenge of North America sim racing league! I'm so glad you are interested! I hope you will move forward and try us out! We will be racing on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM US EST time. I would like to give a short briefing to you on what to generally expect from the Ferrari Challenge: fierce competition and relatively short, 60-minute races that all come down to pit strategy, tire management, speed, and stamina. Are you up for the challenge?
If you are, if you think you can handle it, here's the short entry form you must follow:
GTP ID: ___________________
PSN ID: ___________________
Class: ____________
Car Body Color: _________________

News Board
If a driver doesn't show up on raceday, 9th place in the class that the missing driver was in is allowed to race. It would be great if the driver who knows he'll be missing the race would tell me in at least 2 days in advance. If you're iffy about if you can or can't make it, still try to come, but if you can't, you obviously don't have to. I'll announce here once I open the room and someone hasn't showed up who can show up.
Also, all of the qualifying will be on Mondays. We will be racing on Wednesdays, still. One free day is in need.
First race this WEDNESDAY.

Teams
If you wish, you can choose teams with someone. They must willingly agree. All of your back-and-forth P.M.ing is your business... all I want to here is if you are choosing teams or not, and if you are, who you will team up with. You are encouraged to team up with a driver from your own state! Also, you are allowed to have multi-class teams. This gets a little complicated because of the multi-class deal we have running and different sets of standings and requirements for each class. If you choose to make ONE TEAM in ONE CLASS, you are only allowed two drivers on your team (you and your chosen teammate). If you want to have one team in TWO CLASSES, you are allowed FOUR drivers on your team. But the scores of the drivers in your other class will not count for the team championship in your class. But if you want your name recognized on both ends of the table, then this strategy is highly recommended.
Room Rules
We will be racing via online room. Here are the standards of this room...
*Driving Line on
*Skid Recovery Force off
*ABS optional
*Traction Control #2
*Active Stability Management OFF
*Active Steering DISABLED
*Grip Reduction REAL
*Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption ON
*Mics STRICTLY disabled
*Damage: Light
*Tires: Racing Hard
*Race Distance: 150 KM or so
*Offensive or suggestive language or behavior will result in you being booted from the room
Note that there must be one mandatory pit stop done by 10 minutes (20 minutes on La Sarthe) on every track. This INCLUDES THE PACE LAP.
458 Italia Qualifying Procedure
On a specific race thread, I will post the room number for the official qualifying session, which will be on a Monday at 7:30 PM US EST time. I will start a 10 lap "race" once I've got all the regs done and once everyone's there (I will allow 15 minutes of getting into the room). Then, the "race" (actual qualifying session) will start. On the grid, you must give the person in front of you 5 seconds to go, and then you can start. Every flying lap will count, and I, or the steward who is taking my place to moderate the race, will check to see if it is a clean lap. Anyone who purposefully blocks another driver from getting in a good qualifying lap will be disqualified and will NOT be allowed to race. If you see a faster car coming up on you, please let them by. If you don't let them by within 3 corners, a grid penalty will be put on you. The times from your "race" will determine your starting order. THE FASTEST 8 WILL RACE ON WEDNESDAY!
430 Scuderia Qualifying Procedure
On a specific race thread, I will post the room number for the official qualifying session, which will be on a Monday at 8:20 PM US EST time. Please note that a lap time without doubt wouldn't make your lap time better (let's say you just ran off the road) will get no penalization. However, excessive cutting of corners and the like will result in a 5 second penalty on that lap. THE FASTEST 8 IN QUALIFYING WILL RACE THE NEXT DAY.
Race Procedure
The room number will be posted on the race thread and I will allow 15 minutes of getting into the room. I will start the race once everyone is there or at the 15 minute mark. It will LOOK like a grid start at first, but you must not start racing. You will roll off from the grid and attain 50 or so MPH and you should maintain a double file pace lap. The moment the leader passes the start/finish line after the pace lap, the race really starts. You must do your mandatory pit stop within 10 minutes of the race INCLUDING the pace lap (20 if the race is at La Sarthe). Over-aggressive driving and ramming will be penalized by race stewards. Do not complain in the thread. Complain about drivers to me via P.M. We will review the race and decide on the punishment, if we need to inflict one.
Raceday: 7:30 PM US EST
*Please take note that we will be running in DIFFERENT rooms for each race. If a room is really laggy, I will alert everyone via text chat to come back to GTPlanet for the new room number.
Racing Conduct
Class #2 Driver Rule
Any driver of class #2 (Scuderia) must yield to the Ferrari 458 Italia if they are at least halfway along side your car. If, for some reason or another, the Scuderia is unable to hold his line, the 458 Italia driver is required to have patience to let the other cars figure out the mess.
Passing
In single-class battles, if a car is completely side-by-side with the other car and has the line into the corner, the other car must yield. If the car behind isn't fully along side the other car, the right to maintain the position goes to the car ahead. A bumping into another incident will, if not obviously deliberate, be called a racing incident.
Blocking
A Scuderia deliberately blocking a 458 Italia is strictly prohibited, and will result in point deduction. However, single-class blocking is a little different. The driver, to block another from passing, is allowed to change lanes only once (you can't "snake" around the track to keep from passing). Squeezing a car into the grass is strictly prohibited, and will result in a time penalty or point deduction depending on the severity of the incident. Rivalries need to be kept off the track.
Off-Track Excursions
When hopping over curbs, two wheels must be on the tarmac or curb. Two are allowed to be in the dirt. If four wheels are off the rumble strips and not on the tarmac (ex: 2nd to last corner on Suzuka is painted green) is considered corner cutting and a 5 second time penalty is issued to those who do at the end of the race. If a car gains a position while cutting a corner, no matter a break-lock up, wheel-hop, slide, or otherwise, he must give back the position or a time penalty will insue. The last thing on the subject is that if a car has a serious off-track excursion and is getting back on the track, he must stay out of the racing line. Any issues involving this should be pointed at to the stewards for investigation. Also, damaged cars should stay off the racing line and not up to full speed. If your car is severely damaged and you attempt full speed or get back on the racing line or both, a 20 second time penalty will insue.
Swerving
Swerving or "snaking" on the track is prohibited during the race, as I had mentioned a little bit before, and it is also prohibited on the pace lap. You will get a 3 minute time penalty for swerving during the pace lap.
Specifics of Penalties
*Breaking of the class #2 driver rule will result in a 20 second time penalty
*Breaking of the passing conduct will result in a 10 second time penalty
*Offensive or suggestive behavior/language will result in the offender being banned and blocked immediately from the series until the next season
*Scuderia blocking 458 Italia will result in a 50% point deduction
*Squeezing driver off into grass will result in 30 second time penalty or 100% point deduction
*Other penalties will be unique depending on the incident
Points System
Points system will be: 1st: 30 points; 2nd: 20 points; 3rd: 10 points; 4th: 9 points; 5th: 8 points; 6th: 7 points; 7th: 6 points; 8th: 5 points; 9th: 4 points; 10th: 3 points; 11th: 2 points; 12th: 1 point; 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th: 0 points
