I'm surprised this hasn't been posted here yet, although its not really made big news on any of the motorsports websites.
It appears a team are preparing a full racing verison of the modern Ferrari P4/5 and have been accepted for the Nurburgring 24 hours.

There is no official connection to Maranello though they apprently know about the project.

That's a really nice car. That should challenge BMW and Porsche next year.

Depends on the drivers & the team running the car. If it's not top notch, I don't see them competing with the likes of Manthey Racing & BMW.

Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to see this compete, but it sounds like some rich guy just wants to get some pedigree for his car and then stash it away.

Glickenhaus, the owner of that car is a gtplanet member, he also owns a P3 (formerly from David Piper) and another car built from the remains of a Le Mans crashed P4 (not sure if Ferrari already accepted the car as original). When in the SCC forum/community we had a classic event featuring the P4 we (the SCC community) discussed the P3 and P4 career in depth and he showed up to join the discussion, it was interesting :)

It is based on a F430 GT2 car I believe. Wich means it won´t sport the Enzo V12, but rather a V8. So in essence it is a GT2 car, but not homologated to any racing series, only one class in the N24.
