Im sure its been covered, but I cant seem to find with the search.

When I turn the wheel and try to gas it the rpm wont go up at all.Its mainley FWD cars.Ive messed around with settings.

Also no matter if I have the traction control on or off it still does it.

Anybody know what to do?This is mainley on the Honda FF cars.

The possible ideas that come to mind are:

1. to make sure you have turned the ASM and TCS off (they severely hinder the power on FF cars)

2. to ensure you're not using a too high gear.

The thing that it's the most visible on Hondas makes it look like a torque problem, they have high revving engines that don't have too much low end power. Try to shift into a lower gear and see if it helps.

Sorry for being not so helpful here, but those are the only things that I could think of.

(this is assuming that none of the electronic nanies are on)

Since FF car's front tires have to handle the force of acceleration and steering the front end becomes overworked. So the car will not acheive full acceleration and traction until the wheels are straight. Front wheel drive cars require careful tuning. If the car has to much power and to little traction the car will be more likely to spin the tires while cornering and applying power, therefore you lose acceleration. On the opposite end of the scale, which seems to be your case, if the car has to little horsepower or torque and to much grip the engine will bog down. You have to try to find the right balance between power and traction in order to resolve your problem.

You may also have to shorten your cars gear ratio in order to stay in the engines peak power band.

Also see if you can induce oversteer to your FF car, because that will help due to you will not need to have as much of a steering angle mid-corner and the front tires will be able to work more at accelerating out of the corner. That is how I set up all my FF cars and they are super fast.

You also have to realize that no matter how much you try to exterminate that problem it will always be there. That is one of the disadvantages of a FF automobile.

It is just the nature of FWD cars.

Since the front tires can only grip so much. It's front tires are also there so it could turn in, too much turning in will lead to speed loss. Too much on throttle, car loses speed and power. You need to go light on the throttle and when it's okay to go WOT, then you can go WOT.

and it has quite much to do with the driveshaft joints too. but, I've noticed that putting 1.5 LSD on Civic EG has helped the turning and acceleration out of corner quite much.

does that 1.5 LSD always work on any FF car?
how can i achieve maximum concering speed with a FF on S2 or S3 tires? Getting a little oversteer is nice to :)

i used search but did'nt find the right answer and ended up in this thread.

thnx

you must learn the ways of suspension tuning. easiest way to make FWD oversteer is buying correct car, like Focus RS or TRD modellista celica. using the first one teaches throttle control as well.

In the '97 CTR (EK) / Nürburgring - Request thread I have a EK civic setup which I have found to be very proficient in tire traction and handling. That general setup philosophy is used on all my FF cars with minor changes car pending. If you need any help adapting that setup to a certain car PM and I'll give you a hand. 👍

Like Greycap said, its your traction control. Turn it off and practice controlling the throttle when you come out of the corner. Dont just 'floor it' or you will get too much wheelspin. When you get used to it, you should be able to drive your FF cars much quicker.
I hate driving aids.

i always drive whitout driving aids.
anway what i wanted to say is that my throttle control is pretty good i think (DS2) however i don't use it to much, only in highspeed corners like the last on from Tsukuba.

EG6_dude, Michael, I'm going to post my CTR-setup into tuner garage thread soon. with that setup I pulled succesfully a low 1'43.099 on Citta Di Aria.. so yeah, it turns quite well. :sly:

I've seen faster civics on that course! :sly: I would have to say it all depends on how much Hp you have though. I've pulled If I remember correctly[cough]..1:38-9s[/cough] with a 200 hp EG! :sly:

I would say we could start a little comp. if you wanted to! 👍

This is concerning the original message. You say mostly in FF cars so that would mean some are not so your problem might not be FF cars at all. It is possible that being FF cars generally dont have much power that you simply dont have enough power. Or your having some major turbo lag problems.

power is not problem with FF's. (unless you use Citroen) Like, SRT-4 is able to do 270mph with it's 511bhp, while abusing all glitches possible in GT4's game engine. if you really have a car, and driven for example FR car and FF car, you'd know, that FF car power delivery gets more troublesome when you turn the wheel. it's modeled in the game too. when you straighten the wheels, then it again accelerates as it should.

Your right Leo!! I was using R3s! However I will give it a go on the street tires and get back to you. Im sure our times will be close. Until then...
