FF cars aren't naturally inclined to accelerate well.
As you accelerate, the centre of weight shifts back - the weight over the front wheels decreases. In FR/MR/RR cars, this is fine - the weight transfers onto the rear tyres, allowing better traction, ergo better acceleration. On an FF car the weight transfers OFF the front tyres, meaning POORER traction. In other words, the quicker you try to accelerate, the less you CAN accelerate.
I've not seen an FF car capable of sub-6s 0-62mph times. Ever.
On the plus side, I made a Spoon Integra a while ago - 215hp, 900kg.
