The FGT Championship requires good skill with the car, but more importantly, consistency and patience. The Vettel Challenge on the other hand requires a ton of skill with the car and the track, but it's much shorter. One mistake in either of them could cost you the win. What is harder: the extremely difficult short sprint event, or the easier endurance championship?

It'll be very interesting to see how people vote here. :D
I say Vettel is harder, but not by much. (Only because of Suzuka)

I've won the FGT Championship on my first pass through, winning each race, two in the rain. Of course, I did each race individually first just to practice and make sure I was good to go. Of the A-spec events, it demanded more concentration than anything else. This morning I sampled the Vettel Challenge at the Nurburgring for maybe 4 laps and of course I'm way slow. Considering it's a Special Event, I expect it will be considerably more difficult to gold than the FGT races. If I can get Bronze, It'd be like getting Gold in an A-spec FGT race, I expect. My plan is to acquire the X1 car at B-spec level 35 for practice before I go back in to Special Events to collect trophies.

Nowhere near close. FGT championship needs a decent tune and crash avoidance and you're set. X1 challenge requires perfect precision with something completely different to anything else driven, while driving very fast times!

FGT Championship is much easier. It's very hard to gold those 3 Vettel Challenges, only got gold on Monza right now, bronze on Nurburgring and Suzuka.

FGT championship might take a bit longer but it's pretty easy if you know the car and you can even make some mistakes and still get 1st easily. It will take longer to get gold on the 3 Vettel challenges and there's no room for mistakes.

FGT has to be easier

I'm about halfway through it with no problem. I'm using a wheel and assists though - its all about patience!

Formula GT was Much harder for me. I didn't do the engine overhaul and used RM tires, no Skid Recovery and no oil change (this was before I knew these would help you). Plus for every event that had weather changes, it rained and rained hard. I think to truly get the championship gold (by my standard), you must gold each event in one sitting. Going back to gold one of the events you messed up in earlier is a loophole, albeit a valid one, but to each his own. :) As for the Vettel challenge, you are able to restart as you need with no consequence, so it just takes practice (The Formula GT Series would help ). Plus, once you turn on the Skid Recovery the Vettel Challenge is dramatically easier, whereas for the Formula GT you still have to do each event consecutively.

@Jump_Ace: I agree, the hardest part about FGT for me was no restarts and everything had to be done consecutively. The Vettel challenge was in some ways easier for me because of unlimited retries.

Actual difficulty, I'd have to say the Vettel challenge.

However I would probably never even consider going near the FGT ever again.
20 laps in the formula GT is draining.

With that said I'm going to vote FGT

I did FGT pretty easily and in one sitting, Suzuka rained hard though, I got to first, span, got to first again, span.
Ended up winning by 12 seconds.
On the other hand, the Sebastain Vettel Challenge, takes much longer to Gold, is much harder, even with Skid Recovery on.
You can also get disqualified which is very annoying in Suzuka.
You can set a fantastic 1st lap time, but get disqualified at Degner 1, or loose too much time at the final chicane.
Suzuka is an absolute nightmare here.
But Istill love Suxzuka very much :D

The FGT thingy requires consistency. In the Indy race I made a mistake in the 15th lap, lost 3 places and tried to push harder to get in front. Then, because I was too nervous I made another mistake and lost 7 places... Well, I guess you need to drive like an F1 driver. No mistakes and even if you make one, forget it and move on.
2 more levels and I will unlock the Vettel challenge

anyone have any good tunings for the FGT championship in bspec?

I used this setup for A-Spec and it worked very well, no reason for it not to for Bob. :)

Tuning:
Aero: 70/90
Trans: 249
LSD: 15/45/55
Height: -5/-5
Spring: 17.0/17.5
Ext: 7/8
Com: 5/6
Anti-Roll: 7/7
Camber: -2.5/-0.6
Toe: -0.15/-0.12
Brakes: 4/1
Tires: Racing Soft

I hope it helps!

The FGT was tough but I beat the championship first time - had to repeat suzuka because it was a disaster for me.

As for the X1, well maybe it was because I found it much more enjoyable I found it easier. It was like learning something completely new and didn't feel like a chore compared to the FGT. It was still tough but I golded everything the night I unlocked it. I'm not gonna lie, I got lucky, getting gold by hundredths of a second, but I still got em so I'm happy out.

How long did it take you?

About an hour for Nurburgring, way less for Monza and about 2 hours for Suzuka.

I was using a DFGT with all assists off except our blessed ABS on 1.

I dunno, it just clicked with me straight away and I got the hang of it really fast. My laps were very one off though. I doubt I'd be able to do the gold laps consistently.

Only 2 hours for Suzuka???

Well 2 hours at the console. I took breaks and came back to it. I found that leaving it for a bit helped a lot.

I beat the FGT Championship the first try. It kind of sucked though because I did not get to race in the rain. All the races were clear for me even though it said rain. The luck of Dynamic Weather

Loophole? What??!?!? That's how every sporting championship works.....

can i ask what sort of lap times you can do monza in, in the fgt?? i was doing 1.22s with a best of 1.21:444... the lap after was a 1.21:445..
i golded it 1st time, tho finished 4th at monico.. and abandoned suzuka..

Are you kidding me ? :scared: You comparing FGT championship with Vettel Challenge??? On which drugs are you :sly: This is easy!!!! I mean FGT,
