Very impressive lap by The Internet again. The rest of the drivers are going to have to pick up the pace or the season may be over in terms of the driver's championship very soon.

RACECAR, in one of his first times behind the wheel of a FGT car managed an impressive 3rd on the grid. Behind him was the 2nd Luna Loca Racing car of ERacer. Then there is danny12 who has been very vocal about his dislike of the track with the FGT car. Alot of the drivers agree.

The race will be the toughest challenge of the season. The Internet looks to become the face of Formula GT but at the Nurburgring anything can happen at this track. It is hard enough to get 1 lap in without crashing, now how about 4 consecutive laps with 5 other cars on track?

In a crazy turn of events, the championship points leader The Internet did not start the German GP. The reason was the 'pit every lap' rule. The Internet blamed cold tires and lack of grip for his DNS. ERacer also seemed to struggle from similiar problems.

RACECAR, Earth, and danny 12 on the other hand kept on ticking. RACECAR won in his debut race and danny 12 showed signs of vast improvement.

With all the crazy happenings of the German GP the top 4 drivers are now within 6 points. The championship is almost wide open now.

Next stop, Monaco. The drivers will certainly not being getting a break from the 'Ring there.

Earth - sorry about Laguna Seca. I thought I didn't qualify, so I didn't enter. After reading the posts, I realize I could have. My bad.

I have the DFPro with force feedback set to max and, as far as this German GP round goes, I have only one thing to say: OMG!!! 👍

I'm definitely at a disadvantage in driving with a DS2, especially since I tend to drive with traction control off.

I put in about an hour on Monday and couldn't get a clean and fast lap together. I'll try later today as well but my prospects for this race aren't looking good.

ERacer, don't worry about Laguna Seca or any other race for that matter. This series is about having fun. If you, me or anybody else misses some races and run some others, big deal. That's why I got rid of the 110% rule.

I too drive with the DFP on max force feedback, and OMG does put into words how it's like to drive.

I've said this before in the signup thread, but driving the Nurburgring in a stiffly sprung 900 HP 550KG Formula GT car with the DFP on max FF is without a doubt the most brutal, toughest challenge in Gran Turismo 4.

It is so physically demanding that I rest my arms on the long back stretch by holding just the bottom of the steering wheel.

Beyond that, the bumps in the track lift both front tires off the ground at times giving you no control over the car. Some turns, at least for me, require me slowing down more than the car needs just so the tires stay in contact with the road.

Alot of the long, fast turns get the car sideways on exit. I don't know why, but the experience is frightening. You have to be extremely talented to run a competitive lap around here without going off the track.

And The Internet, I don't know how you're going to manage with a DS2. I tried running the track with a DS2/FGT but I found it near impossible without the precision of the DFP. I can only hope for you the best

And on more thing, I hope everyone understands that the rule for this race is you must pit every lap. I doubt you can run 2 laps here even with mild tire wear but the rule is pit every lap. If you got a handle on the track the AI shouldn't be a problem even if you pit every lap

I'll upload the replay next week when I get back from the coast and when the grid is set. It was easily the most challenging lap I've ever done.

OMG this is the hardest ever.... this track is really hard on open wheel cars.. i'm not looking forward on this one....

Hello, Everyone. Yesterday I did qualifying for this race and wow, The Group C race here will definately be a lot easier then this. Hopefully, I'll be competitive to keep up with you guys.

I know where I'm losing time to the Internet, the only problem is if I push through those particular sections of the course the car is very likely to spin out due to bumps etc. With some more practice I can probably make this a competitive race...probably...

As for the race, remember that the rule for this one is you must pit every lap and change tires except for the last lap of course. (no need to get the checkers in the pits)

times submitted... i was able to be well into the 6.5min per lap mark, but with the " pit every lap rule " was thrown back into the 6:40.000... but i'm happy, at least i'm getting better...

I'll not be submitting a time.

The pit every lap rule killed me - as bad as the track is on worn tyres, it's infinitely worse on cold ones. Even with traction control, the car would still spin randomly even when the tyres were green (whereas, during qualifying without it, I had no problem), and after fifteen attempts, I couldn't complete the 2nd lap.

Well, I'm very dissapointed with my failed attempts at 4 clean laps. I love the challenge, and came very close a few times, but my car would find a new way to jump off the track with every attempt. Sorry guys, I'm a DNF in this event.

Wow, I'm shocked at the guys that are gonna DNF This race. I tryed to nail down a one stop race and it worked well.

A one-stop race would be easier because you don't spend half the lap trying to warm up your tyres whilst keeping the car on the road. Too bad that's not what we're doing.

The Internet, I think your struggles are due more to using the DS2 than to cold tires. Although I do regret the pit every lap rule to a degree now since it caused problems for some, it didn't make the racing impossible. Maybe extremely tough with a DS2 but with a DFP the car felt just like how it did in time trial mode.

The race was extremely fun for me. I wrecked about 3 times, not due to cold tires, but to just pushing too hard. I just tiptoed around and point raced knowing the internet wasn't going to race. Going through that famous 180 degree banked turn with a DFP in a FGT car is simply...breathtaking. It's slow, around 55mph, but the feel of the car, the feel of the slicks gripping the road, the feel of every little bump going through your arms... Now my faovrite turn in Gran Turismo 4.

As for RACECAR pitting just once, I gave him a 60 second penalty for it. His fast lap was also dissallowed. But neither penalty hurt him.
