I am in need of some advice on how to drive the FGT. For the life of me, I can not get the feel for this car, and my lap times just plain stink. I know I am not the greatest driver out there, but no other car (besides the X1) gives me a problem like the FGT. My biggest issue is oversteer coming out of corners. But if I back off the throttle to avoid that, my lap times suffer and I still fall behind the AI cars.

I have tried several tunings found on this site, and some of them helped, but I still can not get consistent and keep up with the AI in the GT formula races. What is sad is that my B-spec Bob blows the competition away with the FGT setup I use (he lapped all but the 2nd and 3rd place cars in the Fuji race for example). Oh, BTW, I use a Thrustmaster DF

So, what is it going to take for me to learn how to drive this car? Has anyone else experienced a lot of difficulty getting the hang of it? Any tips would be very much appreciated!

Make sure that you turned off the assistance in the options menu -> wheel options (main menu, not the driving menu just before the race) and set the steering to simulation.

Helped me immensely since I thought setting it to simulation would kill me but it did exactly the opposite.

I did all these on my second attempt, gold. The only changes I made was to put downforce as high as it can go, put all toe and camber to 0, lastly, changed to gear ratio, max I went was 232. Put traction control on 3 and abs on 1.

I found if i fell behind I could catch up fairly easy if i stayed clear of obstacles, the trick with these events is to be consistant more than blazing fast because you won't gallop far away. I dont think I won any of them no more than 10 seconds ahead. If no one is in front of you, stay away from the AI's driving line to break drafting, these guys are aggressive and if you want to break early and they are behind you, they will smash you. Although this may of changed with 1.06

As with other challanges, break straight, accelerate straight as best you can. Remember also to change your oil first before you do the championship !

Thanks, I will check the assistance setting. I am pretty sure that I use simulation for the steering mode though.
