What an excellent lap by The Internent! Over one full second clear of 2nd place to take pole position for the United States Grand Prix.

Luna Loca Racing is right behind him with 2nd and 3rd place. danny12 of Team GBR takes 4th.

Despite only 4 qualifiers for the race the organizers are sure the race turnout will be much higher. Also, the 107% rule has been abolished indefinitly.

This has the makings of a very exciting race, and with a track like Laguna Seca we expect nothing else

Congratulations to the Inernet on winning the very first Formula GT Championship race. He had the field cleared by over a second through qualifying and the race.

But the next track is something quite different then Laguna Seca. Will the Nurburgring mix things up? Can The Internent keep up his dominance at the world's toughest track? We'll see.

times for qualy sent, looking fairly good... :nervous:

Hopefully things will sort out

Qualifying results are up, sorry I'm a day late but you wouldn't believe the things that happened to me yesterday that kept me away from the PC. Hopefully that won't happen again.

And one more thing, remember to record you race fast lap

This was my first time in the F1 car. Obviously, very different from any other car in GT4. So different that I had to re-think how to take the turns. I'm really liking the F1 and my times should improve.

Congrats to The Internet 👍

ERacer

Just some FYI, if Gran Turismo 5 Prologue includes an open-wheeled car and a few decent tracks combined with it's official online mode....

if there is enough of us with PS3s we will move to GT5 Prologue and have real online racing

suzuka is pretty much confirmed so the Japanese GP could be held online with GT5 Prologue

Just hope there is an openwheeled car in GT5 Prologue. My plans have always been to eventually get us racing online wheel to wheel with the next GT and those plans may go into action sooner than I had thought

Earth,

What should the tire compound be for race 1 (i.e., RS, RM, etc)?

Thanks,
ERacer

F1 cars have only one tire compound..if i am not mistaken...RMs ..even if you set RH or RS...its still acts as RMs...

That's true the FGT cars use RM/RM even if you select otherwise

times sent... hope to see more teams active this time....

Just about to send my time. Had a hard time keeping it on the road at the start of the 2nd stint, but then I put in fast lap after fast lap - fastest was about 1'03.8 or so.

Results are up 👍

Good job The Internent, danny12.

The Internet, I have your fast lap down as a 1'03.899 because you can't remember the specifics.

I have no doubts more drivers/teams will show up eventually.

On to the Nurburgring!

A non-impaired check of my replay shows that my fast lap was 1'03.822 on lap 16. I had a good one-stop strategy that saw my tyres reach their peak just as I was low on fuel and right before the end of the race.

I hope there are more competitors for the Nurburgring race. Perhaps we should open up this series to the complete public - an F1 race at the Nordschleife should attract some attention.
