Great idea. Had a couple of suggestions if you don't mind.

- Instead if restricting the cars entered why not make it production cars only (or even better restricting the number of manufacturers, say 6 like the official series and then letting the person pick whatever car the want from those manufacturers).
- Minimum mass as opposed to maximum.
- Specific amount of maximum horsepower e.g. 700
- All 4WD cars like the Gallardo or GT-R must be fitted with a torque splitter to make sure all the power goes to the rear wheels, probably not the same effect as RWD but close enough.
- As for tracks hopefully include at least one street circuit, wet weather race, night race e.t.c

You might want to change the vehicle restrictions. I would love to enter with the Viper ACR, which, stock, would blow away most of the competition, especially with racing tires. But, with 700hp, it'd just dominate. but it's up to you. I did make a list of the actual cars in FIA GT1 in another thread.

The are:
GT1 Cars:
Nissan GT-R
Ford GT
Lambo Murcielago SV
Corvette Z06
Aston Martin DB9

So is this no racing modded cars? In other words just tuned fully to 700hp with whatever weight can be had off? If so we should note that people will take the Elise and spank the competition. So we should limit it to Vettes, Vipers, Aston, Ford GT, GTR, Lambo Murc, and Ferrari 599. But see what the lowest weights are for those cars and make it even. This is how GT1 does it. Take the cars to the same track and test them back to back see what lap times are what. Some cars are better with 650hp then others with 700hp. For instance, say the GTR with 650hp but AWD, compared to the 599 with 700hp but RWD. The GTR will definitely accelerate better thanks to the AWD, not sure about cornering and top speed, but a test is deserved. I'd be interested in this though, for sure.

It's why I gave the suggestion of adding the torque splitter to the 4WD cars and ensuring all the power goes to the rear engines. It's the closest they can get to RWD, not sure how effective it would be though. Also remember the Lambo SV is also 4WD but the GT1 version is RWD.

And also unless it Tsukuba, Monaco or something like that what type of Lotus would "spank" (or even come close) a fully lightened, 700BHP SV or Corvette?

EDIT
GT1 cars run at a max. BHP of 600 and minimum weight of 1250kg by the way.

This is true. Hmm...That would definitely have to be taken into account. It's too bad we're missing the MC12, as it would make a perfect addition to this. It tends to dominate the class, though. Then again, it is basically a modified Enzo.

In reality it's better than the Enzo. I think it not only looks better, but performs better. Maybe not in top speed, but as far as racing goes (the Enzo never raced). It is a wonderful car and I wish GT had it. Maybe they will in GT6?

Right. But the MC12 is based off the Enzo. They have the same chasis, same gearbox, same engine, same transmission. The only thing that's different between the two is the body and the fact that the MC12 was built specifically for racing. However, if someone so wished, they could probably use the Enzo in the GT1 line-up because of this. The 599 would probably be better suited to a GT2 class race. Although, I do suspect it could be modified to enter and compete in the GT1 classes.

Clearly, there needs to be a LOT of testing done before a series like this gets underway. It would also help if the PP system or something similar were introduced.

I see that, i may change it to just picked cars in the makes of each car. The Viper ACR, will kill the field, i will let the other Viper in on the series. I'll see what the rest of you think.

EDIT

Yea i know... We can't retune the cars they use. They have Murcielago, with 600HP.. That's crazy i think. I watch this series on speed. I think it's, one of the best series they have. With the weight, i changed it to 1160Kg. So guys pick your cars. Hopefully, this series will start shortly.

GT1 cars used to be faster, the wings used to be wider which let them have more downforce. They're about 3-5 seconds slower than they were a few years ago. But still awesome. 24hours of Spa was one of the best races.

Good information. I'm definitely interested. I'll at least keep an eye on this series. Since I want to start my own FIA series, this is good research. And, if the Mucrielago and GT-R were RWD, I'm sure they'd be a bit more even. However since we can't change drivetrains in GT5, what you've done is fair. I still would have gone with the Enzo over the F430 since it is what the MC12 is based off of, but you're running this series.

I also like the idea of leaving it open to independent teams and cars. Just a couple quick questions: Are the races going to be run online or time trial style? and ...I can't remember my other question.

I wish i could have added the MC12, but none in the game. What i can do is, remove the F430 and put the enzo in. I guess that can replace the MC12... I like that idea SuperShouden, thanks for the input.. The Races will be held in Online Lobbies. I'm going to have a qualfying session, day's before the race. The Day's and time of the races, are still in the making. PLus i'm going to come out with the track list as of today. So please, be patient... I think this can be a great series.. The cars are set, so please pick your car and tune it to the specs above. Thankyou and i hope u all enjoy the series

I can be your team mate

I've got gtr stealth

sure we can be teammate just pm me and we could pick a car and team name

also i no the enzo is the closes were going to get to a MC12. but it might just be me. it doesn't seem like it fits with the other cars. Its not in the series but what about the 599. What about the murcielago its in the series.

These are just my suggestions and you can do what you want, its your league and your final word i will still race in it( hope i dont sound mean)

And the MC12 does? You have to keep in mind that in the actual FIA GT1, the MC12 has dominated the competition since it started. The Enzo works, and should be a bit more equal than the MC12 would be.
