I don't like big trucks, they'e just work horses, given the option I'd take this Fiat over a truck. (Note: My Ute is a sedan based Ute, not a truck)

It's an uphill battle for us small car guys. Smaller cars seem to be stereotyped as "girly" here in the states and the only measurement of your man-ness is the size of your truck.

Now that I own a small car I hate people who drive large pickups, mostly because a large percentage of them have that tough guy syndrome. I've especially noticed it with Dodge Ram owners here in Michigan. They tailgate you, even more so in the snow, and the feel the need to drive like they own a sports car....although I must confess I am guilty of this when I owned the Blazer.

Eventually fuel prices will drive these people away and force them to buy smaller or more efficient means of transportation. I just wonder what the next manly thing will be once the whole large engine thing dies out?
 
Put a lift kit on it with bigger tires, and you've got your answer:

Ah yes, but I really don't think Americans who love their large Suburbans and Expeditions would take to a Cross Golf, no matter how cool they are. Sometimes I wish America took more cues from Europe since it seems more logical to do it there way. I don't know why Americans are fascinated with some of the automobiles they are.
 
No, probably not... But I do forecast small crossovers like the VW Tiguan being "Great Success!" in America as well. I think there will be people who look for the utility of an SUV with the footprint of a car, and its coming down the pipe. Its hard to say of course, Americans are odd little critters.

And yes, I would SO buy a CrossGolf if they sold it here...

You are disapointed with the new corsa? I take it you dont compare the new one to the old corsa c. If you did you would see that this new corsa is awesome in comparison.

Still the chavs choice of transport though :D

I own a Vauxhall Corsa C - SXi post facelift and apart from the quality issues I think it looks far batter than the new Corsa, They have tried to make it all soft and girly with its curves, the headlights look a mess, the cabin feels so much smaller... its just as I said a melted astra, if it had looked anything like the concept or more like an astra it would have been fine, to me it just looks like a girls car now.

What it should have looked like...

The old corsa had smoked carbon effect hi back lights, a vectra style boot, the front lights where simple and elegant with 3 individual oval housings, reminded me of the carrera gt's. It felt a lot larger inside and the dash although plastically looked more VW'ish, also the side profile looks typically hot hatch.

I fitted some irmscher stuff it and it looks really nice!.. oh and Im not a chav :sly:

I would too. The cars are still larger and thus more of a hazard for other drivers, however. The nature of quite a few Americans will ensure the life of the SUV/CUV/LUV/PUV right up until fossil fuels run out.
 


I'd have one. With the inevitable 'essesse' kit, it'll be a hoot.

There's only so much you can do with half the horsepower. I'm surprised the 500 didn't put up more of a fight in the corners though.
