Official site has launched with a countdown- http://fifa.easports.com/enGB/home.action

The countdown lead to 5th June 2009, which is when we will find out how big football can get. The countdown will stop and we will find the answer.

Edge Magazine has the license to reveal the first details about FIFA 10 in their new issue, avaliable a day before the countdown stops.

Also, FIFA 10 will be at E3. And there is a Community Day going on at EA Canada, where FIFA fanatics get an early hands on with FIFA 10. One of the websites' there is FIFASoccerBlog.

Can i ask why we get FIFA games so quickly. Milking the cow eh? lol

That and fans freak out and complain when they don't get the current rosters each season for their favorite sports game franchises... which is why I suspect just about every sports game franchise comes out with a new version every year like FIFA, PSE, Madden, 2K Sports ___, NCAA Football/Basketball, MLB The Show, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, NASCAR, etc, etc, etc.

Sports games every year = Biggest con ever, it would be so easy to release a patch every year to add new / move players around and change shirt designs etc but that would be revenue suicide. I suppose this is where the PC gamers have the upper hand.

In the old days there was much more room for improvement with every new game, such as in the graphics dept... now everything is pretty much top notch all they seem to add is gimics.

Im still waiting for 1st person view in football games! :sly:

Exactly my toughts:tup:

For me I simply just don't freak out over rosters, and enjoy a game for what it is, and keep it until I don't play it any longer, not because a "newer" version comes out... but based on the popularity and sales of many of those annual sports games, and that game developers are not charities, as long as millions of people keep buying them every year, it would be stupid of them not to release them every year, and stupid to simply patch them when obviously it has not hurt their sales to release a new version every year instead.

Personally, I only feel conned when I buy something that isn't what they advertised it to be.

I think fifa is dead to me, but so is my love for soccer

FIFA 09 has online updateable squads/rosters anyway.

I'll probably be the same as FIFA09 but I'll probably get it anyway. The problem with sports game is that their isn't too much you can do to update it and provide new and innovative material. Especially a game like FIFA, which is still essentially the same game I remember playing that was FIFA '96.
