Went to my mates the other day to find he had bought FIFA 2006, so we booted it up and got ready to expect the same old FIFA.
So, he chose his faviroute team (charlton BLEH) only oto then be sprung upon by someone saying his team has been challenged by the Legends XI, including Gazza, Cantona, Haji, and many more legends. Final score Charlton 0-3 Legends.
So i gave it a go, played a friendly, Newcastle V Chelsea, and the first notable thing is the grahpics, they are fab, the players look noticabley better, more humanlike and generally better, they move better as well, and the responsivness is much better than previous FIFA games. Had a shot on goal, looked to be well into the top right from 35 yards but their keeper (Cech) pulled off a stunning one handed save, which looked real, not a normal FIFA fly through the air, but a lifelike jump up and palm away.
In fact, the play in general feels like Pro Evo, its smooth fast and fantastic. The net animations have also been improved, no longer is it a net of chains like before but now a net of...net, it flys like a real net and looks brill. Another notable addition is to the stadiums, the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, the venue for the match against the Legends. Theres also some stadia from Protugal (Dragao, Stade De Luz) a few more from across the globe and also new generic ones which look the business, these are, all with generic before the name, south american, meditteranien, modern and olympic. The generic modern looks the best of the new ones and possibly the best of all the generic stadia.
This is by far and away the best FIFA yet, much more satisfying to play and is a TRUE sequel to the previous FIFA games rather than an update.
If you were'nt sure of this game before the review, you should be now, dont take my word for it, try it yourself.
Good Luck!
The chants are all there as expected, player likeness' are fantastic as usual (and more humanlike)
