... by various criteria like
  • pp like e.g. "searching for 500 to 600 pp"
  • enabled/disabled aids like e.g. "nothing but ABS allowed"
  • allowed tuning options in order to find "stock" rooms
  • car type
  • tyre restrictions
  • suitable rooms for the car currently driven if you're just in the mood to try out your current beauty.
  • number of laps
  • number of maximum participants
  • etc.
in order to find interesting races to join more easily.

For instance: Although I call myself a serious driver, driving with all aids except ABS off, I still like to have a racing line, because I memorized the breakpoints in relation to the "red" zones using them as a landmark. And it's quite a hustle to find a room with race-line allowed, but SRF off. A filter for this would make my day.

A proper filter/sorting system is easily one of the most important missing features(as opposed to needed bugfixes) for online. It seems not a terribly difficult change and would make playing online far less frustrating. It is unimaginable to me that you can create a game with such a wide variety of ways to play and yet provide no way to find lobbies that suit the sort of driving you are looking for.

A possible alternative would be to at least allow us to select a potentially interesting lobby and then press a button and see a list of the important settings and restrictions(just as we already can view the players in a room). The information that is currently provided about those things in the lobby list is effectively identical to no information at all. No one cares if PP is restricted, they only care what it is limited to. No one cares if tuning options are restricted, they care which tuning options are restricted. No one cares if tires are restricted, they care which tires they are allowed to use. And so on.

Having to wait to load a room and then look and see whether it is obviously not the place for you is unacceptable in my opinion and very likely to help drive people to simply not bother playing online.

Create transmission filter in online options in order to create an Online Room or Club of classic Cars, or any Cars with Manual Transmissions with Clutch and Shifters, Options like: (AT or MT-Sequential or MT Clutch and H-Pattern Shifter) There needs to be limiters set into the options category for this preferred Transmission Option Race type, to create an even playing field in the Room or Club you are hosting, because paddle shifters and Sequential Shifters have a big advantage over the Clutch and H-Pattern Shifter Transmissions so a limiter is necessary.
