lol funny vid. as long as its built on the PS3, i could care less about a 360 port.
but if its built from the ground up on the 360 then forget about it
FFXIII will end up like Burnout Paradise, Good looking game that was developed on PS3 first but because it used a multi platform engine it only look marginally better then the 360 version.
Lets be honest, exclusive PS3 games are smoking exclusive 360 games right now.
360 Gears of War 2? 10 players max online
360 Halo 3? 16 players max online
PS3 Resistance 2? 60 players max online
PS3 Warkhawk? 32 players max online
PS3 MAG? 256 players max online
It's gotten quite obvious that the PS3 is capable of a considerably far more advanced experience then the 360.
I'm not talking about a few more frames per second here or smoother edges or slighty better textures here.
I'm saying the PS3 is proving it can handle things like twice the number of units on screen, at higher resolutions and framerate.
Final Fantasy XIII will in no way show any great potential of the PS3.
Call me a fanboy, but I'll be honest. The real time footage shown so far of FFXIII isn't exactly jaw dropping. In fact, I dont even thinks it makes my personal top 10 list of best looking PS3 games so far.
Now why exactly will FFXIII not show the potential of the PS3 even though its being made on the PS3 first then being ported to the 360?
Because its being made on a multiplatform engine.
Initially Square created the "White Engine" to create its games specifically for the PS3. However the abandoned it and moved on to the crystal tools engine to make all their games multiplatform. Now, only Final Fantasy vs XIII is using the PS3 exclusive white engine and is said to be the last game to do so.
Crystal tools, a multiplatform engine should make porting the game to the 360 easier but at the same time it will take away any advantage the PS3 could have given FFXIII by not using the exclusive white engine.
Square has begun sliding down the slippery steep slopes of mediocrity.
Now I know some will get onto my case saying "What's wrong with letting other people have the game even if its not quite as good as it could be"
Let me tell you, once you accept less then the best that's when you've accepted mediocrity. I only accept and demand the best.
Why should I be happy about a gaming franchise that has stayed exclusive to one console or another letting the developers get the most out of that particular system is now becoming a multiplatform crapshoot?
Like I said earlier, this will end up being just like Burnout Paradise PS3, a good looking game that is only marginally better looking then the 360 counterpart, when we know PS3 is much more then just
'marginally' better then the 360.
