I thought we were pretty hardcore on Gran Turismo, but this guy has taken all the key scenes from FFVII and made a movie out of it on YouTube, 47 10min movies means 470mins or over 7.5hrs of footage.
Link

Must have taken months to make. I always wished FFVII was a movie, as I'd rather watch it for the story than play it.;)

Check this guy out too, he's made a movie of Crisis Core as well.

This reminds me, I recently watched all the cutscenes (with important gameplay footage) of metal gear solid 1-2, then I went and beat metal gear solid 3 because I wanted to delve deeper into the story. I really wish I would have just played the first two now, but it really doesn't matter. Anyway, I love the MGS series now! There were like 70 movies on youtube, 10~min a piece.

Oh dear, I've actually started watching these videos......

Good thing it's FFVII which makes it acceptable.:p

I remember being pretty bored of FFVII when a mate used to play it, I used to just sit there, for a couple of hours one time, waiting for him to come out. Then a couple more got hooked too. It just seemed so boring, I just couldn't understand what they saw in it. Maybe if I had started to play it I would of been hooked too, but I stopped myself from even trying it, I had to hate it just because everyone else loved it.:sly:
I am not sure if it's hardcore or just a waste of time, I just can't believe someone went to all that trouble, I just don't get some people sometime. Oh and Paulie, it is not acceptable to watch them:sly: Nah only kidding, watch them if you want, just don't tell or expect me to. But hey if you are watching them at least all the effort wasn't for nothing. Movies are not really my thing though, especially ones that are supposed to be games.

I still rate FFVII as having the best story in history, I actually preferred watching my brother play it than play it myself.;) I don't expect you to watch them though.

THAT IS SWEET, my girlfriend is always buggin me about playing that game. And my friends too.... But I dont like playing RPGs unless I can cheat in them just to get to the cutscenes quicker...lol, wow I would almost thank him... haha

I know how you feel mate. I'm up to video 19 now, and then I realised he's also made a movie from Crisis Core. Excellent!:D

Crisis Core eh? I hear that was good too...... LOL! Ill have to check it out as well.👍

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up, FFVII is my all-time favourite RPG! 👍 I've played a couple of the later FF's, but none of them got to me as much as this one did!

This game was at the cutting edge of PS1 games too. That FMV to gameplay intro was sublime. Even after all these years, it still hasn't lost its edge, and as for the cut scenes... Well, They were superb! FFVII is a fantastic game that everyone should play once! 👍

Oh yeah, I couldn't talk about FFVII without mentioning the music, which IMO is the best ever for any RPG. 👍

I also learned a very hard lesson with this game too:

NEVER, NO MATTER WHAT, DO YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING UNOFFICIAL PERIPHERALS!

Why? Well, I had finished the game, and literally had everything you could possibly find, including the breeding of all those rare racing bird things, and I saved it on an unofficial memory card....

I come back to the game a couple of months later, and WTF!? The memory card had wiped itself clean! It took about 120 hours to complete the game, but a lot longer if you went for everything else in the game (I think i was at something like 200 hours). Not for the first time had FFVII brought me to tears, this had to rank up there with Aeris's death - what a tragedy!

To this day, I still refuse to buy anything unofficial, and this is the reason why! 👍

You can't recall the name of Chocobos?! I'm up to part 27 of the video series now, but haven't watched any in about a week.:dunce: Good stuff though.:)

FF7 is way old hat now, except for us old fans.

ASH32: sounds like your in the "these games are too easy" player's group. the people that can whip though a game for five minutes without trying.

magburner: I've never had any trouble with Aftermarkets. I've had more trouble with OFFICIALS being fried, rather.

No not at all, I think I was just to young and impatient to play FF7 back then. I played games for fun, I didn't want to dedicate hours, or should that be months to one particular game. I do like games to challenge me a lot more these days, however most seem to think harder = allowing the AI to cheat and I don't want that.

FFVII was a genuine challenge, the game doesn't cheat (Like NFS: Pro Street, TOCA Race Driver 3 also known as V8 Supercars 3 did). But I can understand not wanting to dedicate months to a game. I can't afford to be getting Final Fantasy games any more either, I don't have the time to finish them.:indiff:

Ash: again, that's because younger players will whip through a game in 5 SECONDS, yawn. and never buy anything again, cause it's too easy. while those of us in the older bracket tend to pitch the controller through the TV the minute the camera angle gets funny :P

even with a guide, I can get stuck. and I'm not a "complete all the sidequests" type.

It's official - some people have WAY too much time on my their hands...

Great effort, though... and I'll definitely be taking a few trips down memory lane later!

You can't recall the name of Chocobos?!

That's it, how could I for get them!

One thing I liked (when my guys where up to full power), was using those ridiculously powerful attacks. I used to go back to the start and fight the little guys just to unleash a 'Knights of the Round' on them! Overkill I know, but the animations were just so nice! 👍

Speaking of Final Fantasy VII movies... on the Japanese PSN store they have released a new 5-min trailer for the upcoming Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete... and as I mentioned in a different thread, if only the game looked even remotely like that I might have played it. ;)

I watched FFVII Advent Children a couple of months back.

Thanks for sharing
