Finally beat that stupid Vitz race!

SS 11 with the Vitz, what a *****! I struggled with this one but I guess I just didn't put enough time tuning the car because I'm too impatient. I figure I can always just drive better to win. I finally got the gearing and suspension right. Now all I got left is that huge F1 thing.......
 
That exact race was one of my best comebacks ever. The AI bangs you around the whole race. Finally, on lap 9/10 while in 5th place I started to get some momentum. I was in 3rd by the start of lap 10/10 but still 9 seconds back from the lead. On the final section of sharp turns, I hit each turn perfectly and passed the car in front to move into second place. On the final sweeping turn, the 1st place car hit the wall, giving me just enough time to catch up and pass on the final strecth to win by .3XX seconds. A true nail-biter that you can't cheat past, since it is tough even with a well-tuned, maxed-out Vitz. Congratulations on winning one of the toughest races in the game!
 
I beat the Pro Vitz Race SS11-II on my first try... I just use Super Slick tires and never pit the entire race. I don't know if some consider that cheating, but my tire gauge is barely turning orange when I finish the race with barely a noticeable change in handling. Without pitting in, that saves you 25-30 secs against all the AI cars. So just try to stay with 'em until they start pitting and just don't lose more than 25 secs during the race. Not hard to do if you can stay away from them, considering the AI cars constantly hit each other destroying their own perfect turn lines if they stay pretty grouped together. :)

I find this race series one of the most fun in the game just becuz you can access it early on (if you start with the Vitz 1.5) and the challenge. I wish more or ALL the pro races were as challenging. I say make the game that way instead of the damn Special License and Time Trial difficulties. I'd rather lose fairly to an opponent than a ticking clock, even if the AI isn't that great. Whoa, I'm branching... bye!
 
hey creature i figured that if u use t1 tyres you dont have to pit in not that long ago but it is so helpful when doin races like the vitz ssr11 but i was more than 25 second behind when the other yaris' pitted in and i got back all 25 seconds and more at the start of lap 6 i was 20 second ahead. and i needed evry bit of it on the last lap i changed tactics instead of goin rnd the corners from outside to inside back out i jus stuck to the inside and went a little slower through the corners that gained me about 2 secs so i finished about 2.3 secs ahead of him :p
 
GOD DAMN !!. If u mean the Vitz/yaris race on the Pro league... then for hell's sake. WEREN'T IT BORING ?!! I got so bored, i just lost interest, and i never do that. lol. It was worth it though..............in the....( when u finally got to it..... the end.. when I got the Green Supra RZ ;)-Only reason i did it,lol
 
Gear the first four gears down and then crank up 5th and 6th so you can hit like 125 mph or so. (for the SS 11) I think the other Vitz races were way easier in comparison. Now time trials or F1?

Go to the Change Parts screen under Settings and select the item you want to reset. Then press the X button. That will reverty whatever part it is to the default settings.
 
I have got 92% and decided i would take on the Yaris cup in pro league. DAMN. I won the first 3 races: Rome by 13secs, Laguna by 17secs, Test course by 1 lap!, but now i enter SSR11 and get caned by the other cars, i am driving a maxxed out yaris with settings of a GT Planet forum, brilliant for the first three races, but i can't turn cleanly without slowing right down, and then the AI zoom past me. I hate FF car understeer, and the stupid Yaris.
 
In the Beginners Vitz Cup, i had 2 close finishes in a row.:D Tokyo R246 i managed to win by .101 sec after some good blocking techniques.;) Trial Mountain i wiped out on the last chicane and won by .194 sec.

I liked it. I don't know why people hate the Vitz so much. It's a good car considering. I always start with a Vitz, and get to the Pro League Vitz Race as fast as I can to get the Castrol Tom's Supra (which I'm lucky enough to always get on the first try... so far, hehe). It's a good strategy as far as I'm concerned.
 
I love tight races, but i hate FWD so the Vitz race is a toss up. They don't handle badly for a fwd (Helps that its so small), but i would rather it be a miata, trueno, or something else small, underpowered and rear wheel drive. :cool:
 
I finally beat the SS11 vitz race last night (going back through all the races I skipped). It was my third attempt at running this race. I used medium racing tires.

The thing that did it for me was that I finally decided to go ahead and qualify. After getting into first place by qualifying, I just stayed there... well... except for a few seconds on the first lap.

Pitted after lap 5 with glowing red tires.
 
I don't hate it, as i enjoyed the first 3 races, but i just can't steer the tight hairpins on SSR11 with a car with rubbish FF drivetrain
 
Everyone knows that I never hijack threads. This is somewhat on topic though.

Who uses the handbrake when racing ?

This could help getting around hairpins although I reckon it is one of the weakest parts of the game because when you put on the handbrake the car seems to have a heart attack and takes 1-2 seconds to recover.
 
i used the handbrake lastnite.... on the way home from work :p
swung the back around 90 degreesand took off down my street. helped that the road was wet :D

but in the game? well sometimes when mucking around but not racing (tho i have in rallies)
 
I used a fully modified Vitz for the Professional Race...just got through it too!
 
People help me, that's the only race I'm stuck at, I finished everything except the SSR11 and some F1 races, the F1 races will be the last ones, so I want to win the SSR11 with the Vitz car. If you can tell me what were the settings of your car, suggestions on taking curves or anything else, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
 
Raise rear ride height to about 10-15mm higher than front.

Raise rear spring rate to max.

Raise rear bound and rebound to max.

Setup gears so that you are using all of 6th gear on main straight.

Wall ride the 2 hairpins at the ends of the longest straights.

On all other corners don't accelerate too much whilst turning.

This got me through it.

Also don't pit.
