Subaru SVX???

Toyota MR2?

E30 BMW 325i ...

E30 wouldn't really meet his "this century" requirement.

Look at a Volvo S60 T5? Not a new one, but they appear to be reliable, and not common either. Nice interior, reasonably quick, just not the Shock and Awe of a muscle car or German sport sedan

How much are E36 M3's on your side of the pond? I know they're not as powerful as our E36 M3's but they'd still be good if you could get one in your price range.

The problem with BMW here in America is they equal instant DB. That's just the type who own them here "oh, look at me I bought a bimmer":yuck:.. Sure they're are some cool BMW owner's, but far far more pretenders who just buy them for status.

Sad but unfortunately very true..

Plus being a BMW and imported from Europe parts are not cheap like JDM stuff.

EDIT: Please don't mis read! I like a fast BMW myself.:D

I think you are putting a blanket statement on BMW owners :). To me, it goes like this:

E36 and back means he probably likes cars. If he's a jerk its because hes a bmw snob

E90/F30 = asshole yuppie.

HEY! I like E90's! I'm more of a E92 guy, but I LOVE E90's.

You think he's putting a blanket on BMW owners yet describe 2 generations as "asshole yuppies".

I may be an asshole, but I'm no yuppie.

:yuck: Anything but the SVX!

:grumpy:

Anyways, what about a Civic Si or first generation Legacy? Dunno if they're rare or anything in the States, but might be worth checking them out.

Okay, so maybe the yuppie was pushing it haha. My dad has 335d, no foul intentions.

'87-'93 Fox Body with a 5.0/302?

1991 Mazda MX6 is a great first car, too. It is a very good fuel economy car and it's just a fun car to drive. I remember it was my dad's first car in America, and then he passed it to me. :)

Whatever you get, buy something you're willing to work on and make sure it has some personality. If you try to get a "Jack of all Trades" car, it'll be extremely boring.

Agreed completely. I can't buy a car I don't find cool. Can't own one like that. I'd hate paying for it, driving it, 🤬 that. I do all my own work too so I'm not one to even think about taking it to a shop.

The more insurance quotes I'm seeing, the worse this whole thing is looking. Gotta keep looking around. Hell I may end up buying another motorcycle instead
