Take a look at this article I found at IGN.com some news finally......

Gran Turismo 4 Details Appear
According to numerous sources, Gran Turismo 4 is well in development and perhaps due for a late 2003 release. It's not a surprise, really, since the numbers 4 follows 3, and Gran Turismo 3: A-spec was a roaring success (and for that matter, all of the GT games have been roaring successes).

What we have heard is that the game is about 50% complete, and that Polyphony Digital Lead Producer Kazunori Yamauchi has stated it will feature damage-able car models and realtime weather conditions. If true, the car damage models would be a first for the series and definitely affect gameplay, depending on how much damage the cars actually take (i.e. simple exterior damage versus structural or engine damage). The realtime weather conditions are an extension of the excellent lighting techniques mastered in GT3, and will hopefully include rain, hail, fog, snow and more, though admittedly that's pure speculation on our part.

I hope this is true :) and hope we see some screens soon

wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard a rumor that the first screenshots and information on the game will be revealed March 9th, 2003, at the Amlux car show in Tokyo. :D

I need plane tickets...Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :thatsodd:

Ok Novbember (1) December (2) January (3) Febuary (4) March (5)

5 months!??! :(

Real-time weather? I was thinking a year ago how that would be in GT3. And think if it used GPS stuff! Then the lighting could be adjusted too! Imagine playing an endurnace, and you start it at 5:00. By the time it's 6:30, the sun is already down, and it goes down in the game!

If it has real-time weather, they better have some snow in there! If they don't, I'm going to be pissed!

P.S. Imagine if they included natural disasters, like tornadoes and hurricanes! Oh, the joys of racing! You're going 150MPH, then you get going that straight up!

And for damage-wise, I hope they remove the non-flippage. I really want to be able to flip the opponent's cars, especially in multiplayer:evil:

P.S.S. Jordan, do you think we could get an image for the  tag I made up?

Yes but inmagine how much disc space that would take up,we might not have as good as graphics not as many cars or tracks. :(

I don't really care about the cars, Sony said there'll be more to come by the download feature, didn't they?

bah, IGN is usually full of crap. we'll have to wait and see, but i'm suspicious about the body damage. manufacturers don't exactly appreciate to see their cars all torn up.

Some I read that they're getting some problems from something like 1 or 2 japanise manufacturers because they worry people will think their cars are worse for some reason...

It's no secret that cars get damage if driven incorectly , c'mon and get over it... Anyway games like NFS had damage and there was no big deal about it , you could scratch your ferrari F50 all damn day...

Well most manfacturers these days have excellent standards for car accidents, so they can show a positive impression?

And some cars :car: fall done when it comes to victim damage in a run over, but this shouldn't be an issue in :gt:

I dunno, it would be fun flipping over cars, especially in rally races where the hills can take over. There's just something about the satisfaction of flipping your opponent's car over so he can't finish the race, and you can catch up from a 5 lap difference. Of course, you'd spend those 5 laps finding out how to flip your opponent...;)

if there WAS flipping... itd make the game a whole lot more interesting....
and i was wondering if they could make new rally tracks, and bring back the pikes peak climb and down for cryin out loud! and make em on asphalt too! *so we drifters can b takumi ;)*

I want GT4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Real time weather? Now that's cool. Damage is not something I'm happy on though. Granted, it makes thing more realistic but I don't really need to be worrying about that. I am perfectly content on the driving engine as is with my biggest complaint being about track and car selection.

I want DAMAGE - I want FLIPPING!

Man imagine the VIDEOS I can make WITH THAT!??! Ill make a damn 2 hour movie!!!! I want GT4 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

GT4 is sounding better and better :smilewink Can't wait for the real-time weather effects :p

But i think tornadoes is taking it a bit too far rjensen

Come on, you know you want tornadoes, flying cows, and cornfields!

Can somebody invent a time machine, I want to travel to the future and purchase every future GT's and Playstations. :D

I want all of the above, plus one more thing

Game_Regenerater, the game would never end! Here's how my theory works

Everytime a person beats the game, the game goes back, washses the Gamesaves on your Mem-card for GT4, and creates a whole new game 'set' randomly, it mixes up the competitions and such. This way, the game would never end!
