It's amazing, no one comments on the camera man, only the explosions. lol.

He died making that video, that explosion was the last thing he saw, that would suck, there would be nothing you can do.

hurray for mini-nukes

that was crazy.....that camera man is a legend

I might be in the minority, but I'd rather not watch a man's last moments in that kind of context.

Odd that I could watch planes being blown up with people in them, but this is somehow different. But I'm more referring to old dogfight footage.

This is footage of an explosion of a fireworks factory that was located in the middle of a neighbourhood in a Dutch city called Enschede. The explosion wiped out large parts of the neighbourhood, 22 were killed. Hundreds lost their houses. It took place on May 13th 2000 and it's been entitled as a national disaster.

Anybody know what the narrator dude is saying at the end?

I also agree with talentless. That makes me feel pretty bad (also kind of creepy) that I'm watching the last moments of a guys life. But what makes me think is, If the last explosion was big enough to kill him why didn't it "kill" the camra? I dunno. Probably just a total coincidence that the camera survived.

Well, I sure as hell know the camera was damaged, it shut off at the end. But it could have been a live feed, that went straight to a tape elsewhere, or it could have just survived, I don't know. What I heard, was the camera man died in the very last explosion.

HOLY SWEET JESUS!! That is a huge explosion (a kiloton at least). Too bad the guy died, that is the most incredible footage I've ever seen...

That remind me of footage of a missle storage facility that caught fire somewhere. Bigger booms than that. The explosions sent tons of unexploded bombs in the air that rained down in the area. Forget where it was though.

you need Windows media player (the latest version). If you click it, media player should automatically open it (I'm not sure if QuickTime supports avi files, so you might not be able to see it if you're on a mac)

I should have the latest version. I even opened up media Player and it said something about updating, so it did. Still, when I click the link, a winsow pops up then goes back away.

"You are now watching the images in slow motion. You can cleary see how powerful that last explosion was. The roofs are literally blown off the houses."

Do we have any more on this explosion? Like a body count, because that surely DID kill someone (like the people in the garden for example).

And thanks for the translation Apclps.

Unfortunately, I saw the video before I knew he died making it.

If I'd known I wouldn't have watched it. :(

I thought the guy would be fine, wasn't he hinding under one of those like little steps the have on roof tops? It's sad how he died in that explosion just because his stupif ass company wanted the story....DOWN WITH THE NEWS STATION! Heh.... Hm, I never thought of it like that.

Bastard new companies should compensate his family BIG time. Even better they shouldn't have sent him out in the first place...

I could be wrong but I don't think that this guy is linked to a TV station at all.

Looks like an amateur video which was just sent to the station. Plus an explosion like that would probably start way too fast for them to even be able to send a crew out.

Here is some more info (some of which has allready been mentioned) :

Accident occured May 13th 2000 in The Netherlands in a place called Enschede. The fireworks factory was situated in the suburbs and even though there were strick regulations for it, something like this still happened. No one was actually aware of the danger is posed

22 people were killed, 945 people were hurt and about 400 houses were damaged or destroyed.
