What was your first ever car in GT3? Mine was an MX-5. In my view the best car you can get for under 18 grand.

Of course, nowadays money doesn't matter. You can start the game with anything you want, as long as its 500,000 or less. Because that's the money you get for selling the Panoz Esperante you win when you get gold in all the arcade time attacks. But I'm sure most of you already know about that.
