Hi guys....

This is a first post. I've been on the site for about a week though. I've really gotten into photo mode since I've got my usb drive for Christmas. I've been playing GT since 97 and I must say, the photo mode has been very refreshing.

I got GT4 on launch day, but like i said, I've only been doing photo mode for about a week. I've come across a little problem though, its expensive! I'm buying cars that I want in my photos and I'm running out of money (54% complete with game).

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am very impressed with a lot of the work I've seen. I hope the pics download at a decent speed (I host my own site, but I think my upload speeds are limit by my ISP).

Why do you have the pic with all the lemans car in there, I thought someone from GTP made it, I think franz.

On a different note. Do you know that your pages don't validate? The reason I ask is that after looking at your code, it was apparent, that you have tried to make your web pages XHTML 1.0 transitional. Your home page has no 'readable' DOCTYPE (thanks to the counter script you have placed at the top of your document). If you place the DOCTYPE above that script, the W3C validator would read the page as XHTML 1.0, but there are still other errors. The DOCTYPE has to be the first line on any webpage, or web browsers will not read it.

Please don't be offended by my remarks, they were mean't to encourage rather than criticise. I'm really impressed with your site, its nice, clean, and well designed. If your really interested in web design, and you have not already found this site, check out A List Apart, its an invaulable resource for webmasters who code according to web standards. :dopey:

Yes, sorry for that, I don't mean to take credit for that one. but its my favorite pic I've seen. I wanted to give credit to franz, but I couldn't figure out how to type a description for each pic without screwing up the buggy software. I should have resolved this before posting the pic, again I apologize.

Don't worry, I am not offended :) I'm using an open source content management system, so I didn't write it from scratch. If you aren't familiar with CMSs, its basically like a webpage you "install" on your computer, preferably a linux system with MySQL, PHP, and Apache. Once installed you can change the layout, tweak colors, edit links, almost anything you want. I edit my pages via the "backend" or administrator's system. So I don't actually write code.

The reason I bring it up is that I've done it both ways, writing a homepage by scratch and using a CMS, and using a CMS is by far the easiest. You get cleaner, professional looking websites in a fraction of the time as well as a whole list of features that would be nearly impossible to code yourself, unless you are a professional. (i.e. the photo album).

If you want to go this route for your own homepage, I do not suggest Toenda CMS (that is what I use). It is buggy (especially the photo album) and isn't as flexible as others out there (and appearantly isn't W3C compliant, either). I would look into Mambo. There are tutorials everywhere on how to get it set up and running on your Windows or Linux machine. All you need to do is buy a domain, everything else is free (Apache, PHP, MySQL, and the actual CMS).

Well, I'm not sure if you wanted all this information, but there you go. About the code...I'm not a web developer so I don't really know how to get into all that PHP and fix stuff. I'll be happy as long as it keeps working.
 
Ecellent shots Jinkinz!👍 For a beginner to Photomode, you are ahead of where I was when I started. Keep it up, and join in the competitions, we would love to have ya!:)
