Hi there

First setup. Bought this Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 wireless cockpit which had a broken wheel. Took out the pedals and the steering wheel electronics. Replaced everything with a DFGT wheel. Built a little platform which is sturdy is hell. Won't move an inch.

Rest of the kit:
LG3200 tv
Sony PS3
Xbox360 slim
Sony Blu-ray
PlayStation Soundbar
DFGT

Favorite games:
GT5
NFS Hot Pursuit
Battlefield 3

For now it does the trick :)

And it looks great and best of all works better than the non-FFB Thrustmaster GT wheel. It's a win-win situation :)

I would recommend painting the dial for the RTA (the red dial on the DFGT) to match the rest of the stand. Only if you're into matching colours.

Thanks! It's a good wheel to start with! But as I have a xbox for over 7 years now I have collected also many games on that platform which I want to play with a steering wheel.

I'm leaning towards the CSR Forza wheel from fanatec. It can handle every platform which gives me the opportunity to play forza 4 (+ horizon :O) as well as gt5 (6) etc. What do you guys think?

Next mod I will do is to wrap the plateau in carbon fiber. Guide the cables via the case and that's it I think.

I do you hope that the CSR forza package will fit this stand... :(

I recently moved from an Xbox wireless wheel & DFGT combo to the csr value XL pack and I'm very pleased with it.

The DFGT is so much better than the Xbox wheel I got hacked off with it. Used them both for a while but then decided I wanted better pedals so took the opportunity to get one wheel that covers all.

I wasn't sure at first if the csr wheel was much better than the DFGT but if you go back to using the DFGT you feel how notchy the gear driven wheel is (it's still great for 75 quid tho!). The elite pedals are brilliant and add way more fun/control.

I did a bit of a write up here

You can download the linked drilling template to see if the csr will fit your stand (good ingenuity on the mod btw!)

Cheers

@TurboSenna

Thanks for the advice and excellent write-up!

Will probably switch to the CSR value pack just because it's a multi-platform wheel. I enjoy both XBOX and PS3 gaming so I don't want to buy 2 separate wheels..

Looks very clean, nicely done!

I run the CSR Elite and Clubsport V2 Pedals.
I started with the DFGT, moved to the G27, to the Fanatec.

I've had my new gear awhile now, but I'm still amazed at the quality of Fanatec for the price. I'd say go for it, it's great gear.

No problem, glad it was of use. Sounds like we're in the same boat as I use both quite a bit. I prefer my Xbox in general but most of my mates have ps3s so got it to race them in gt5/f1 and blow them up in mw3 (although I'm bored of that!).

The old Xbox wheel was decent for a while but doesn't compare to the DFGT & certainly not the csr.

If I had the cash to spare I'd have bought the csr elite but struggle to justify the extra £300 when trying to save up for a 'real toy car' for me to have some fun in :-)

Yep I also prefer my xbox. I have 2 games for my ps3: gt5/nfs hot pursuit. Just because wanted to use a steering wheel and all of them for xbox looked boring. But now I am convinced with gaming with a steering wheel I would like to upgrade. Also because I probably prefer Forza 4 over Gt5 (sound/graphics/look&feel)...

They don't make it easy :D
