Bah! I made a button in Flash but it wouldn't work out how I wanted so after an hour or so of mucking around with Flash MX I managed to make a button using actions and frames.
Anyway, that's not my problem. My problem is, when I go to convert my bitmap image (.png) to a movie clip or button, it mangles up the image. This is what I mean:
It's strange how this happens to the symbol. I can't get away with making my 'custom' button any other way - I need to convert it to a symbol or I can't get the on action to work.

- I import the bitmap to the library and place it on the stage. I go to test the movie, everything looks nice.
- Back to the stage, I hit F8 to convert the bitmap to a symbol and everything looks alright on the stage.
- When I go to test the movie however, my symbol is all mangled up.
