Last night I happened to catch it on Cartoon Network, and it ****ing blew me away. The thing does make sense though, if little at all. The movement exaggerations are what crack me up the most though. :lol: Like one moment the dude is fine, then he has a headache and a robot comes out of his head. :lol:

It is great.
 
I plan on watching all of FLCL eventually. I watched the first episode and didn't have a clue of what was going on. But it is only six episodes long, so it won't be too hard to catch all of sometime. Instead of watching the second episode I decided to watch some MacGuyver . . . ahhh, the memories of growing up and watching that show every Monday.

I've only watched the first episode, and I agree with you. It is very odd. But that's about all I can say about it since that is all I have seen of it. I'll eventually get around to seeing it all though.
 
Yes they actually watch the English dub of it. Alot of people watch the English dub of a lot of anime here in the US. We basically don't get a whole lot of anime, and if you actually want to buy any of it, it costs you a fortune.
 
Oh please... Ive seen hundreds of these situations.

Dude, just remember... not everyone has access to a vast and exspansive collection of unedited, uncut, subbed or original, anime.

hell. Cartooon network is really airing FLCL??? god. well, it is good, that way a lot of people will see this extraordinary series of OVAS. I have been an FLCL fan since it came out in 2000-2001. its strangeness will surprise many of you, and believe me, you will have to watch it again and again and again to fully understand it. I think ALOT of people will become fans of its music too. well, of the entire series. watch it, it doesnt matter if its dubbed. and if you wanna see it subbed (wich you REALLY WANT, believe me) go and kazaa it. it is a extraordinary series. dont miss it, all the times they repeat it, because its really worth it and everytime you watch it, youll enjoy it more and more.

Alright, I've seen 5 episodes of a 6 episode series, and I think I've seen enough to make a judgement. The series is terrible. I have a problem, a traditionalist outlook on things, preferring good to evil, and so on, this does not mean I can never accept something different, but I need for there to be a point, a reason for a certain behavior. Asuka, Akane, both are, you know whats, but at least they had something in their backgrounds that made you understand, somewhat, why they were mean, the guitar psycho looks more like some guy's dominatrix fantasies put to paper. Had she had some claim of needing to save the planet of Zarnon X I could forgive the character, but my moral and admittedly judgemental outlook makes it difficult for me to do as I know many will tell me to, "accept that it's fiction and get over it." Well, it's not easy for me to do that. There is one episode left, and of the recent penultimate episode, the only thing I can tell, I guess, is that she was using the kid (I can't remember these names, they sound more like middle eastern food dishes than most Japanese names I've heard) to try and get some one or thing into the world so they could be together. Unless a lot is explained in the last episode, my opinion will stand.

I've barely let out a chuckle at the jokes. I hate slapstick, btw.

The worst is not the series, but the characters within it. Nearly all of them, if not all of them seem to be unnervingly indifferent to everything. But, at least with the oldder brother's gf and his little brother, you could understand something about why they might act out, all the psycho girl seems to be is a tornado. The only thing that could salvage that part of me that could like the series, at least a bit, is if I'm given a good reason why she acts like she does.

I hope no one is taking this personally.

This, so far, has ranked as one of the worst series I've ever seen. It has one episode left, minus any related shows. variants, etc. that may exist, may my curiousity not be killed like the proverbial cat.

Oh, the series is initially enjoyable in the sense that th constant action and enigmatic goings on has its draw, but the replay value is minimal.

Please improve, Flcl. Please/
 
aah, a fine opinion. well, I might tell you that 6th eppisode explains many of the unreal and nonsense things on the series. by now you have watched it (maybe) and maybe understood A LITTLE bit of everything. but believe me, you have to see it at least three times to fully sort out what the series is about, to say that you "understand" the big mess that is FLCL. it might not be "understandable" but at least it explains what the **** happened there. as for any reason, well, If I remember well, episode 6 will tell something about that. I know the series sometimes can be enerving and even fastidious, I know people that also hated it. I think FLCL is a love it/hate it series, there are few middle points between that when you give an opinion on the series. it is clear that you cant expect another Evangelion when one chacters face fills the screen completely, but FLCL is a more complex series than it seems, but nothing that will make you think or wonder. its just meant to be fun and entertaining, giving slaps to many stories hidden within, and of course, packed with action and weird graphics and humor and the such. the humor is another thing that may turn you on or off FLCL. if you dont like slapstick stuff, you will find it lame, as you stated above. it is just a matter of taste, as everything, but in the case of FLCL, it is S0 love it/hate it because of its weird and fast-paced nature, wich makes it more difficult to fully apreciate it, over the gags, graphics and music, so you can give an opinion on the real escence of the series.

Well, I just finished it a couple of days ago and I actually enjoyed the show. The best thing was probably the music, because, in my opinion most of the music in the states is in the crapper. I downloaded a bunch because I don't have any money, but I'm not sharing it. God it has some really good music.,
 
The final episode did raise the score some, but I still think things could've been handled better.
 
Meh. I find it entertaining but it confuses the hell out of me. I really do like the sound track though. It must be one of the best I've heard on any anime.

soundtrack is brought to you by the pillows, a really cool japanese band that's been together for some 14 years. all of the music are songs of them but they have been arranged without the lyrics. every song that appears in flcl is a song already recorded by them, and all of them have lyrics. there are two FLCL OSTs, one being just pure music (including some non-pillows songs too) and the other one being music and some kind of drama CD. I knew most people would LOVE the soundtrack, as this band really kicks the butt of everything that has been released in the past three years.

Music's not bad, didn't pay much attention though. My tastes leans towards what you'd hear in VPM or DH Yohko (spelling?).
