Hello fellow GT5 Online Racing enthusiasts!​

Some of you might know me, many others will not. First and foremost I am the creator of the Flyin' Miata Super Cup Series which runs weekly at 8PM EST (4:00 BST) on Sunday nights. We offer fun, competitive and clean racing with many outstanding drivers from this very forum. We are currently on our second season which has seen a slight downturn in attendance, but we bring in new drivers on a weekly basis.

The reason for this post today is simply this; we are looking at running a third season starting at the end of July and would like to open an additional series for participants in other parts of the world. Unfortunately I am unable to come up with an exact time when these events should happen because it varies so greatly on people's schedules. So, I am here to ask for someone in the European Region to run a separate series using our exact rules, but with a schedule the fits your needs.

I encourage everyone to participate in this series. Myself and many others that compete in the FMSC on a weekly basis can attest to it's greatness. There's nothing better than racing low powered cars on some of GT's best tracks with a packed room. With your interest/help, we can make it better!

You wouldn't believe the ammount of times I've browsed your other thread and wished I was in another timezone :)
 
That's an idea as well. Instead of Miata reference to it like this:

"Flyin' Miata Super Cup - MX5 Championship"

For some reason that's worked in the past. It's just what they (Europe, Australia) refer to them as.

As for the time you've suggested. I think that would be pretty spot on. An hour ahead or back could cut some slack to different people either in Aus or Europe.

Another scenario that could work is this:
6:00 Pacific, USA (Saturday)
8:00 Eastern, USA (Saturday)
13:00 London, UK (Saturday)
23:00 Canberra, AUS (Saturday)

You could even have someone else that's in Europe or Aus. run it. Even if it was at 6:00am my time I'd still make it since I work nights xD

Definitely agree with this. Moving these an hour forward could work for me as well. :)

But 13:00 wouldn't because that's when F1 qualifying would normally start, especially as it's heading to Europe now. It would be alright as long as 14:00 (or later) would be connect time. :)

Great insights guys. Let's really try to get this going. I know the interest's there. And if anyone's willing to help out just say the word!

Also, instead of Saturday, we could do Sundays:

5:00 Pacific, USA (Sunday)
7:00 Eastern, USA (Sunday)
12:00 London, UK (Sunday)
22:00 Canberra, AUS (Sunday)

And that way, Aderrrm, you could run the FMSC race, then watch Silverstone! Most of the other races (save for Valencia) would be an hour or more later anyway so I think that would be a solid time.
 
Sundays are fine for me too and whilst I wouldn't mind running at 12:00, I do tend to watch most of the run-up to an F1 race and if FMSC 3 started after July, the 3 races from then on start at 13:00. 11:30 would be the best for me, or any time 15:00 onwards. But obviously you can't satisfy everyone, I'm just giving my opinion. :)

This could work, however we'd have to have multiple race stewards. Probably one for each time zone. Originally I made the Eastern race three hours ahead of Pacific, as I figured they would be racing together. My problem would be that I'm in the Pacific time zone, and there's no way I'm getting up before 5:00 to race on GT5. :lol:
 
Anyone in Europe that would be willing to run a European version of our racing series? You would have your own schedule, but would use our rules, car specs, etc.

I might give it a try. I've been wanting to host a championship for a while and this seems a good idea, being a European myself. The problem is I'm going on holiday in 2 weeks and I'll be gone for 3 so my schedule for the summer is awfully tight as of yet. I'll see what I can do though :)

I was thinking of starting it a few days before I leave, give people time to sign up whilst I'm gone (I can get internet where I'm going thankfully :D) then start the preseason on the (whatever race day is) of the first full week I'm back. I think I'll PM you about info from now on since I don't want to give away too much if this ever goes ahead. :D
 
Sounds good. I've postponed the USA registration until winter time to help raise the number of possible registrations. You can start any time you wish.
