OK, I know the PSP section is a wasteland of dead threads, but seriously, this game cannot go unmentioned.

You Will Believe A Hamster Can Fly

Developer The Game Atelier delivers the first screenshots for The Flying Hamster, the first horizontal hamster shooter for the Sony PSP. I am filled with joy beyond words.

Okay, perhaps not as beyond words as I initially thought. I'm just a big fan of hamsters in general, and haven't been able to keep one as a pet since my cat Rande ate the last one. The game features six different levels, from Japan to Egypt, 8 different guns, and more than 35 enemy types, including ninja squirrels.

Ninja squirrels! It's as if they crafted a game specifically for me. I'm going to go roll around in these screenshots while I wait for a release date.

I didn't include all the images (follow the link for them), but look at the awesome in that second image. You play a flying hamster that must dodge lasers shot from an owl's eye as you chase down a mug of beer.

I think I've seen a few tumbleweeds roll by.

But yeah, a game featuring a hamster and an owl with a friggin' laser beam in his head deserves mentioning!

Even better its a PSP Mini, so it will be dirt cheap and playable on the PS3 as well.

This is looking like the best PSP mini game since Zombie Tycoon (which is also very cool).

I have only purchased Blast Off, which is quite a fun little puzzler. I should look up Zombie Tycoon gameplay videos, since I have heard some good buzz.
