FM3 Drifting

I just noticed there wasn't a thread for drifting yet, so here it is. We can use this thread for drift vids and pics as well as discuss possible competitions. So how does it feel in the full game? Is it harder since it seems the oversteer bias isn't present as much in the game?
 
I just rented it for free right now, and give me a moment to check things out. I can't produce pictures but a video is a possibility.
 
I almost got the Achievement for 100,000 drift points in 1-lap, only track i see it possible on is the Kaido Mountain pass track, right before i went to sleep i was at 98,XXX!!!! I messed up 4-5 sections so if i can get them in check, i will be going at it to get that achievement as soon as i get home from work. But i didn't mind because i love drifting and it's actually FUN going for this one!!! I will see if i can save the replay and make a movie or something of the nicely executed sections. I wish i had the Fanatec wheel, can't justify that as i already own a G25, but it's still real fun with the controller. :)👍
 
I consider it an improvement over FM1&2 But at times I feel I must say to myself "no those tires cant grip like that"
 
drifting with the controller is pretty easy, still takes some concentration to set up your line for the next turn, but it sure is fun. I just wish i could try it with the Fanatec to give it a fair judgement like in gt5p. :)👍
 
I'm really enjoying the drifting, I've got two cars I've set up for drifting but right now I'm only concentrating on my Hyundai Genesis. I wish the multiplayer wasn't so goofed up, I haven't been able to drift in the matchmaking because it always puts me in a room by myself.

I'm really enjoying the Drifting, one of the main reasons for purchasing this game as racing with the gamepad is ok, but not all that exciting, the Drifting is a lot more fun with the gamepad. Fujimi Kaido is a MASTERPIECE for drifting. All the money i have made is going towards and modifying Drift cars. The only Race/Performance car i bought was the Porche Gt2 997 the MR/RWD version, and i ended up getting it free later on as a driver level gift. I wish i had extra money to get the Fanatec wheel, but since i have the G25 i can't justify that...:indiff:

If you can get some friends together, you can make a private room and just have all drifters, the only online i have played so far is in private rooms, not public, not even sure how the public rooms work/operate now as far as filtering them.
 
I cant get my S13 perfect for Kaido just yet though it was only a rental T-T

Hey there, i got my S15 to drift perfectly for my driving style but doing NO motor work. all suspension & flywheel upgrades, suspension tune, +1toe. -1 camber, 2way LSD, 5.5caster. with racing slicks. drifts on demand with ebrake and grips right when i need it to. hope this helps.
 
Are there any more drifters here? I'd like to participate in some sort of competition, D1 or FD style.
 
I enjoy it but I'm having a hard time getting a car I enjoy drifting with, I might try and tweak a BMW later, those are what I usually use for drift machines.

Speaking of drifting, has anyone else seen the 'My best gymkhana run' video on the Storefront? It's the highest rated item and it's brilliant. 👍
 
I'll have to check that out Moglet. I haven't played GT5P but it is a lot easier than it was on GT4. Using the trigger for throttle is making it much easier to drift. I'm still not great at it lol
