Urgh I've got it and it blows... :indiff:

My dad thinks it was when I re-heated some rice from a chinese resturant and I quite simply didn't heat it up enough.

I passed out twice yesterday and my head has hurt ever since. Has anyone else had this and more importantly how long does it take to recover from?

Embrace your bathroom, and love your toilet seat... for you two shall be spending much time together.

It usually takes about 2 days for me. Depends on how much you get out of your system, though. Don't stop drinking water. Your colon needs that crap, and you'll be sweating bullets anyway.

Ouch... Mao's Revenge.... I found this, don't know if it's any consolation - just says you need to be careful how you keep the rice and how thoroughly you reheat it - drink plenty of water and stock up on the Andrex

Cheers guys, last time I'll eat rice for a while I think..

Consider yourself lucky. My father had his gallbladder removed last week, and the moron doctors never told him what to eat and what not to eat. The night he came home, he had nothing (the standard 24 hour caution), but the following day he was eating nomal food, and had a beer with dinner. That night he got re-hospitalized because his body hadn't adapted to the lack of a gallbladder and all the food he ate poisoned him. Now it's stuck somewhere and nobody knows what to do or how to get it out. Just great, eh?

Just my friggin' luck. This ain't the first time I've had to deal with one of my parents being in bad shape, health-wise.

Yikes sorry to hear that dude, hope he feels better soon. 👍

I got food poisoning from a Buffalo Wild Wings once. It was during college and the night before a final. I had eaten 21 wings. It took me a week to recover from it. By the time I got to the doctor he said it sounded like my body had gotten most of it out but that it was still working and to keep myself well hydrated.

As was said before, you will become very close to your toilet, at least that is what I would consider six hours of sit, spin, kneel, get up, and sit, repeat.

That was six years ago and I still haven't had another chicken wing or stepped foot inside a Buffalo Wild Wings. It sucks too, because I used to go all the time and play the interactive trivia. Whenever someone mentions it I have no desire to go.

Well as long as my new favorite place, Old Chicago, doesn't poison me I will be fine.

I got it last semester. Lots of sleep, lots of water, lots of pooing. It took me about a day and a half to recover.

You'd better hope it isn't. B. cereus (yes, I know) poisoning is right up there with the worst.

Still, on the upside, I'm knee-deep in pancakes. Pancakes with lemon & sugar, pancakes with chocolate, pancakes with ice cream, pancakes with strawberries and cream... MmmmmmmM!

I got food poisoning in England, and had it for two days during my trip around Scotland. I have Jamaican relatives (oddly) in England, and we were at a joint Christening with another random Jamaican family. They all were serving food, and the other family's food looked a little dodgy. I was the only one from our relatives that was game enough to try some.

Well, I paid for it. It usually takes around two days for normal food poisoning. And, as Omnis said, you'll be getting nice and friendly with your toilet.

Ouch, I feel your pain man. When I was in college we ate at a McDonalds, and by the time we got back to school, we were all hugging the toilet. When we called to complain, all they said was "get a lawyer, then call us" and hung up on us, we weren't even looking for money, we were just informing them. Took us a couple days to get it out of our system, just do whats already been mentioned (drink lots of water, etc) and you should be fine. 👍

Sucks, although i havn't had food poisning, last week (during my week off) i had a extreme tempurature, and a really bad flew, i couldn't eat for days. (or drink)
My body eventually gave up. Wait do you count Tums ass food? :dopey: :ouch:

o well i had a food with somthign similar to you, the toilet will be your source of entertainment, just go in there with a book, and a Ipod or somthing, and u'll be good. I did that accept i was in my bath, but i vometed in the middle of my bath, and i vometed cause it was all over me  :ouch: o well i hope you feel better, it really sucks when your sick. But be lucky your during school, and not vacation. :grumpy:

I think you mean the flu because I seriously doubt you were flying anywhere in that condition ...

I gave myself food poisoning about ten years ago. I saw an episode of Mr. Wizard ( anyone remember that show? ) where they made chocolate popcorn and I thought "OOH! That looks tasty!" So I made some later that day and around 2am I started puking. Didn't quit until around 8am. 6 hours of puking, most of the time it was like every 10 minutes. It was horrible cuz after like an hour and a half I was just dry-heaving.

Needless to say, I have yet to attempt to make chocolate popcorn again.

Been there, done that.

I don't think mine was from food poisoning though, but I won't dismiss it.

Either way, the next day I was so exhausted from throwing-up all night that I couldn't even walk to the letter box to check the mail. I had to stop for a rest halfway back to the house! :scared:

I remember when everybody on a cruise we went on got food poisoning from the Jerk chicken they served us one night. I took a pic of the toilet filled with the digested poultry casualties. We were waiting on line at the purser's desk, and this litter girl from the family next to us tried to turn away so abruptly, but it turned out she was projectile vomiting all over the place, and wound up hitting the left side of my grandma in the process. Nasty...

I'm just glad it wasn't me, because I would've broken into the kitchen and given the head chef a piece of my mind (and vomit-ridden sleave).

My buddy Mike ate a BK Chicken Burger at 03hr00 that he had gotten that day at dinner. A bunch of us were out of town and hitting the bars. As you can probably guess, the BK Chicken isn't the safest thing fresh, let alone five hours in a car. We got back at our friends place where we were staying and he was fine for about five or six hours. We had all had a good time drinking (not the driver) so when Mike got the chucks, we didn't think much of it as it was now about 09hr00 by this time. Any how... he gave her all until 12hr00. Then the other end started up. We got worried, as Mike's a pretty big guy and can hold his own and we hadn't drank that much. At any rate, we got him into the hospital some time later once he wouldn't stop. He ended up being there for almost a week on fluids and stuff to keep him hydrated. He lost nearly 10-15 lbs... Not very pleasent. And get this... the day after he was in the hospital, he was still pretty bad, he puked out some of the chicken burger... it still looked like Mike had just eaten it and that was two days after he ate it!

My other buddy Eric worked at a McDonalds and made himself some chicken nuggets. Any how, we had a local paintball tournament to go to so he was excited to get going after his shift, so he took em out a bit earlier then they should have... They still looked pink to me and never took part in the deadly portions of a McChicken (what ever that is). I'm glad that I didn't as Eric was sick in game and puked in his mask... He went home and nearly died for two days straight. My other buddy who had one, was also sick, though only later once he got home. The worst part was that people had taken pictures of it, and the refs had stopped the game and then players had to play in the spot where "puke face" had left his mark as there was only one speedball field... We still tease him about it... 'Cause we had to carry on. Game plan, choose far side and force people over to "the puke bunker". We didn't win over all, but we got quite a few people out with that little trick.

Wait, what is in the chocolate popcorn to make you sick?

Well, now you know not to trust the cooking of a man who calls himself Mr. Wizard.

And the rice.. Oh the rice will pay, it's personal now.

Just flush it. You will essentially be burying it in a bunch of crap for eternity. I am sure that is punishment enough. Plus, I don't want the details of how you get it out to punish it.

I've had two food poisonings in my life. First one was from the one that everybody fears. Yes, bad sushi. I was in a grocery store around 10:30 PM. I see a Sushi in their deli(again, at 10 frickin' 30PM!), and I decided that it was a good idea! I put it in the fridge and ate it past midnight. I was in bed(or rolling on the floor) for 3, 4 days. I seriously wished I was dead. It was the sickest I've ever been, and had never thrown up so many times in my life. Second time was my "then" favorite Chinese meal, Shrimp Fried Rice. I was out for about 2 days on that one.

I'm glad that you are feeling better, bee. And eliseracer, I hope your dad will get well soon. FoolKiller: My coworker's worst food poisoning was from Buffalo Wings as well. :D
