hey everybody, you're gonna love this. me & three of my friends were cruzin' in my 1300 dollar 67 ford when a red all-motor civic pulled along side me & started revving his poor sqirrel motor. being a long time street racer, i wanted to smoke 'em but i have my restored 1977 kawasaki KZ650 custom1 in back with no tailgate, so i let him go. later, we pulled over to have a smoke & a joke & when we pulled out he pulled up beside me again, revving the piss out that poor thing, i just kept goin' when my buddy said "come on man, i know we can smoke his ass!" i slowly clutched down into second, slowly pulling back up along side him, when his tail-lights were right at my front-end, he downshifted & goosed it, i slowly rolled on the throttle @ 2500rpm trying not to dump my precious bike when i started not only catching him but i passed him, he's behind me bangin' gears like a minibike on speed, by the time i shifted to third he was so for behind me that it wasn't even funny. i kicked it into neutral & lit a marlboro before he caught back up! as he passed by my buddy yelled " you just got smoked by a farm truck, with a bike in back!" i thought it was damn funny, all these guys who've seen F&F to many times thinking that their civic is a F@#$ING race car! HA!

My brother showed me a video of his buddy's Civic, earlier today. It did 1/4mile in just over 10.4 seconds at the local track. Chances of finding a Civic like that are extremely rare though, plus many of the kids aren't very good at launching or shifting.

But back on topic, looking down upon stock Civics for being slow is like frowning upon a Funny Car for it's poor handling. The Civic was designed for good fuel economy, not speed. And anyone who drives a stock Civic like a race car on a public road is a complete retard if they think they can beat anything other than a Geo Metro, but especially for endangering the safety of others.

And for my final point, Honda does not suck. Case in point...

#2 i am not making fun of ALL honda's, i'm making fun of the POSERS in hondas. i did not personally know the guy that i raced, but have heard off him. he's not a complete poser, he knows a little about cars & from what i've heard, that civic was supposed to be "hot." please people, i know that in RARE cases, they can be made to be very fast, but rarely, 90% of the time it's a poser that thinks he is big ****.

Somewhere out there there's a guy in a Mustang GT telling the following story:

"OMFG so I was at this stoplight and this black civic pulls up next to me and starts revving his little crappy motor at me and so I floored it and by the time I got to second I couldn't even see him anymore OMFG hondas suck."

In this case I was the guy in the black Civic. What the guy in the Mustang doesn't realize is that I'm making a right turn, so I stopped, then slowly scooted forward to see if it was clear to go. Light turns green, he floors it convinced I want to race, I turn off to the right.


I think this little story is probably either made up, or a distorted version of what actually happened. For example, the civic wasn't actually racing anyone.

I have street raced once up to like 30mph, the difference with me is that afterwards I admitted it was a stupid thing to do and haven't done it again.

CLK. As I recall, it was in a Pennsylvania county famous for catching speeders (the kind where the only funding they get is from speeding tickets), so we couldn't go flat-out; I'm not sure that we ever went more than 10mph over the limit. It was a traffic-based race; he started out ahead and he was making all the right moves; I never could get around him except in the turn lane and I'd never do that.

Then there was the F-250 race where I let the guy pass approaching 85 in a 30 at about 1am one night. I guess that could be considered a loss. I beat him off the line, but I don't consider it a win. He was probably drunker than hell, though. I've actually seen that truck around since, driving in a similar fashion.

1# Seems to me that you take street racing as something that is normal and if they can do it, you can do it too. Street racing will just show how irresponsible you are. It even can just show how DUMB you are too. No wonder why I always see cops pulling over DUMB people in saggy pants and speak with a bunch of SLANG! Street racers make poor role models for young drivers out there. And if they see you do it, they will do it too.

2# And along with the 90% that are posers, they seriouslly DO NOT know anything that the people in GTP does about cars and events. Here are some examples I have asked some of these posers and they dont even KNOW!

How many turbos does a stock Supra Turbo have?

Answer: 1! DUH!

Does a Skyline and a Supra weigh as much as a Honda Civic or more?

Answer: OMG! They are about the same weight as a Honda Civic! They are imports thats why! Unlike those heavy V8s!

I understand how some of us may get irritated by these posers. From my own experimentation. It is common for them to only know what they know from their brothers or sisters. They follow the bigger crowd! (Honda Civic) They want attention because they have nothing else that can give them REAL respect, so they go and and try to get it. But in my opinion, REAL respect is your education and manners. NOT dropping out of high school and trying to take on people who have more in life than they do. This results I found when cruising around in LA, California.

Sometimes I hate the truth, but the truth at times should be brought up to solve things. I don't think these posers that you talk about will ever listen because they will only get angry and do bad things. They won't stop street racing because they have nothing else to do. You should play dumb sometimes and ask them all kind of car questions and see what kind of amusing answers you get from them! 👍 The smart ones will tell you they dont know or aren't sure about the answer. The dumb ones will just give you an answer to make you laugh because they seriously think they know the answer or JUST TRYING TO impress you with their lack of knowledge on cars and events.

Indeed. There's a microscopic difference though, apparently, between making an error and deliberately setting out to urinate all over every known traffic law in order to show to the world how big you think your testicles are.

Pay attention to the ****ing road, not some guy alongside you. Your job on the public roads is to get from your origin to your destination as safely as possible. I don't want you to take me out because you were too busy concentrating on your change into 3rd to notice a red light.

A stock R34 Skyline road car weighs about 30kg more than a stock MkIV Supra road car, but about 500kg more than a stock Honda Civic Road car. Hi Famine! I just want to clearify to you that I was asking these peeps those questions and I already knew the answers. I just wanted to see if they really do know some stuff about cars or they are just all talk and no info.
