How flaming hard can it be:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

I know some of you tech heads will say something along the lines of "its not that easy", but for gods sake, it should have been bullet proof by now. In the last week i have had the pleasure of racing my friends with no problems, then for no apparent reason, the next night we cant race because either one of us gets booted off the server.

To my way of thinking its an overload on the weekends, but talk about getting people off side. We gave up again tonight, 3 nights in a row we had problems after a good night before......:irked:

Its a good thing i don't have a cat because i would have kicked the crap out of it by now....

For god sake fix it, or at least explain to us what the problem is and why we keep getting kicked off your server...and while your fixing that, make sure you include in the next patch a fix for my GT wheel whos buttons dont work properly any more, another reason to be :grumpy:

Rant over, time for a lie down:crazy:

GT5 has one of the smoothest online experiences I've been party to in the past 3 years. That list contains almost every major FPS shooter and RTS. In fact, only Starcraft 2 on the PC was easier.

Once your ports are fowarded correctly it runs very well.

I'm not saying you aren't having problems but what I am saying is, make sure everyone's router is set up right because if you're having problems with GT5, you'd probably struggle with the rest of the games on the market too.

Make sure the ports are open as Rylan says (or put PS3 in a DMZ), this has solved issues I've had connecting with friends on other games

I agree! I usually rant and rave about the quality of online gaming in other games, but GT5 is a smooth as silk! 👍

One thing I have noticed though, if you go on the game after say, Black Ops, sometimes you may find that your NAT Type has been changed, which could in turn affect match-making. Try the MW2 trick, or do as amar212 says. 👍

Anyone who has come up against the dreaded 774 error will know how frustrating the games online can be. It is as though it has randomly chosen one person from your friends list and decided that you WILL NOT be able to host a room that the person can join, and will not be able to join a room that this person is hosting.

Everything else will work perfect, but this one problem will sap hours of your time trying to correct, thinking about every router setting as though it may by the secret ingredient when in fact it changes nothing.

two people with NAT2, UPnP enabled, can connect to everyone else fine but not each other? something wrong there.

Perhaps, just perhaps, is your friend having having connect issue? Perhaps, just perhaps, on his end?

If one of my friend never get invite to a party, and no body will go to party he hosts...

Go to www.speedtest.net & www.pingtest.net & make sure your actual connection speed is ok, I test mine before every session on GT5 just to make sure. When my connection did go bad for a while I complained to my ISP & they fixed it pretty quickly, I now have about 3 times the downlaod & upload speed I had before the problems started. Also, having a half decent router modem helps.

👍

Sorry, double posted by mistake, please delete this kind mod!

:dunce:

the only time ive ever had any issues online is playing people in areas with slow internet connections. then lag becomes an issue. playing people in the US or UK though is always fine.

Recently I've been having problems with the online that should have been taken care of BEFORE the game release. It will take me a good 3-4 tries to join a lobby one of my friends are one because the server keeps getting disconnected. WTF!

the online system seems to work fair.

My peeve is that the number of online races seems to be limited to 100 lobbies. WTF is that about?
:dunce:

Note to the op: Make sure everything is working as well as it can on your end and if it doesn't work then, blame the servers.

As you can probably tell, I have no problems.

Sometimes it locks up and I have to quit GT5 and come back in.

My #1 gripe is that you can't buy tires and other parts from the tuning menu.

#2 Gripe is games should be sorted by best connection
#3 Gripe is lack of filtering options.
#4 Horrible UI for finding races. Should be able to see more rooms per page

Well it works perfect one night then doesnt work the next, and none of us have changed anything!! This is whats killing me!!

How does that happen?? If there was a problem at my end then surely it would happen all the time? Not on random nights when the system doesnt feel like it!!

I still think that it happens when there is a lot of traffic, and it gets overloaded, on weekends.

anyway, very frustrating, but happy for those of you who have no problems.

My friend, try Black Ops on PS3. Then come back here and if you aren't hating that than I'll cut off my man meat. :D

What if I don't want to play it?

Actually I hate them games.
