Nero9 here. My first fanfic, feel free to give me suggestions.
This story is about Isaac Smith who tries to start racing following somebody's death.

Chapter 01: The Beginning​

It was around midnight, it was raining... and I couldn't sleep.

Suddenly I hear a car crash. I look out the window, and see a WR blue Subaru 360, and a red Nissan Skyline. The 360 is totaled, so the driver is definitely dead. The whole car is crumpled up...hopefully the driver wasn't my bro. I look at the Skyline, only the front is damaged. The driver of the Skyline doesn't even have a scratch, and walks away like nothing happened. At that point I felt I had to do something, quickly.
I decided to run after him. I grabbed my coat, went outside, and ran after the guy.
After I caught up with him, he turned around, looked at me, smiled, grabbed his gun and pulled the trigger. Somehow he missed. I saw the shock in his face. He ran out of bullets.
I use this advantage and kick him in the private area. Inflicting pain never felt so good.
Then I called the police.

Isaac - "This is Isaac Smith, and there has been a car crash at Kaz Street. A Subaru 360 collided with a Nissan Skyline. The driver of the 360 is dead. The driver of the Nissan Skyline? I got him before he could run away. Mind helping me?"
Policeman - "OK, we'll be there."

a few minutes later...

The police arrive, and the guy gets arrested. While they take him away, I hear him shout at me.

Skyline driver - "YOU... YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS"
Isaac - "In your dreams, fool!"

This made my day. I go back to my house and fall asleep on the floor.

the next day...

I wake up and turn on the TV. I watch the news, only to hear that the killer escaped.
Suddenly a police car crashes into my house. I recognize the driver... it's the killer. He wants revenge, and I'm assuming the gun that he's aiming at me is fully loaded. I'm screwed.

Skyline driver - "I said you were gonna pay."
Isaac - "U mad bro?"

After saying that, he shot my leg twice. He then ran out of bullets.
Skyline driver - "NO, WHY DON'T YOU SHOOT DAMNIT!"
Isaac - "MY LEG!!! THE PAIN!!"

The killer eventually gave up and left, along with the car. I grabbed the phone in my pocket, and called the hospital.

an hour later... in hospital

Doctor - "Hello Isaac. I am Dr. House."
Isaac - "Wait... what?"
Doctor - "Just kidding. I'm Dr. Wells."
Isaac - "Cool story bro. How long will I be here?"
Doctor - "You still need to be operated on. After that, give it a month or two for your leg to heal and you can leave."
Isaac - "OK."

two months later...

Doctor - "I think you can leave now Isaac."
Isaac - "About bloody time."

And I leave the hospital and return home. Finally I can relax...I jump onto the couch, in the living room. I then hear the doorbell ring. Who could this be?
I open the door, and see a tall person with overgrown black hair and sunglasses. I instantly recognize him. He's my brother's friend, Ryan Freeman.

Isaac - "Oh, hey Ryan! What's up?"

I could tell something fishy was going on, judging by his face.

Ryan - "Hey. I have some bad news for you."
Isaac - "What is it?"
Ryan - "Your brother ordered me to send you this letter."
Isaac - "Huh?"

I open the letter, and carefully read it.

Dear brother,

I have sent you this letter to know that sooner or later I will be hunted down.
As you know I'm a well known person in street racing, especially with my Subaru 360. Not too long ago I beat a Nissan Skyline, and after the race, the driver wasn't too happy. He said that I would regret this victory, and he would kill me. To save myself, I painted my 360 WR Blue, but I don't have enough money to change my license plate. If I am not around by now, I want you to avenge my death.

Tears filled my eyes. I didn't know if I should be sad or angry. I stood up, looked at Ryan.

Isaac - "This is not possible. NO!"
Ryan - "I'm very sorry about Martin's death."

I was very saddened, but I didn't want this getting to me.

Isaac - "So umm... *sniff* What did he mean with the last sentence?"
Ryan - "Judging the last sentence I think he wants you to start racing."
Isaac - "But...how do I even start?? *sniff* I don't even know how to drive!"
Ryan - "You need licenses. You can start by getting the National-B license."
Isaac - "Okay... *sniff* Let's do it right now!"
Ryan - "Sure."

We go outside and the first thing I look at is Ryan's car. A Mitsubitshi 3000GT.

Ryan - "Get in."

We drive to the Gran Turismo Center, and enter the building.

Isaac - "Hello, my name is Isaac Smith and I'd like to do the National-B license."

The man at the desk, takes his glasses off and looks at me.

"Are you the younger brother of Martin Smith?"
Isaac - "Yes."
"Let's get started then."

I never thought this day would come... this will be my first time driving a car.

Chapter 02: Getting Started!​

Allright then, ready?
Isaac - Yes.
Then get in the car.

while on the road...

Isaac - ...By the way, where are we going?
To the Test Course.
Isaac - What's that?
A 10 kilometer oval built 6 years ago. It is used for testing max speed, drag racing, and the very first license tests.
Isaac - I see.

half an hour later...

Okay, we're here.
Isaac - I noticed. What's the first test, what car will I use?
Your first license test will consist of accelerating and stopping.
The test car is a Mazda Demio. What you have to do is get the car to a complete stop after the 100 meter mark. Don't hit the cones.
Isaac - Challenge accepted.
Whenever the light goes green, floor it!
Isaac - Got it.

I got in the car. I felt confident, that I would pass this test. When the lights turned green, I floored it, just as the guy said.

BRMMM!!!
This is epic! But now I have to stop...

Yes, nailed it! What a miracle...

Isaac - So, what's my time?
...You broke the record with a time of 10:018!
Isaac - Wow... anyway, what's the second test?
You're gonna drive an F1 car around Nurburgring.
Isaac - What!?
Just kidding. You will do the same test just with a faster car, but now get it to a complete stop at 200 meters. Again.. don't hit the cones.
Isaac - ...

I looked at the car - a Mitsubitshi 3000GT. It's the exact same Ryan has, just in a different colour. I hopped in the car.

You ready?
Isaac - Yes.

When the lights turned green, I floored it.

GOO!!
This is much faster, I can't believe I'm going this fa- oh man gotta stop again.

Nailed it.

Isaac - So, what's my time?
11:058. That's not the best, but still good.

Everything went better than expected.

Now, I am going to teach you how to corner.
Isaac - What, so soon??
It's the right time. Usually people have to travel to Deep Forest Raceway to learn how to corner, but with you, I'm making an exception.
Isaac - I see. So where are we gonna go now?
To Motorland. It's very close by.
Isaac - Okay.

10 minutes later...

Okay we're here. Let me give you a map of this track.
Isaac - Hmmm, doesn't look too difficult compared to the bigger tracks.
That may be, but this track is pretty narrow, and it's hard to overtake.
Isaac - So how do I corner?

after an hour of the guy explaining...

Isaac - I understand. Anyway, what car will we use?
The Volkswagen Lupo. If you can do at least one clean lap, you will be rewarded with this car.
Isaac - If that's the case, give me that 3000GT instead!
Can't have your cake and eait it.
Isaac - ...Fine.

I got in the car and left the pits.

"This isn't so hard after all."

"Damnit!"

"Take it easy..."

"Not again!"

"You can do much better."

"Goddamnit!"

"Better luck next lap."

"🤬!"

"Back on track..."

"I got this."

"Got this corner right too."

"...And this one."

"Could this me my first clean lap?"

"I'm enjoying this."

"Just one more corner."

"Come on..."

"YES!!!!"

As I crossed the finish line I stopped and got out the car. The guy walked to me.

Isaac, congratulations. You have aquired the National B-License. Remember, practice makes perfect! For doing a clean lap around this track, the Lupo is yours.
Isaac - Thanks a lot! Gotta go now!

I was about to exit the racetrack when the guy shouted at me.

ISAAC! I forgot something.
Isaac - What! What is it?
There's a race tomorrow, at 9 am, held here. Wanna sign for it?
Isaac - Sure.
Only problem is, the Gran Turismo Centre knows about your brother, so you will always start last.
Isaac - No way!
Sorry but I can't do anything about it. Good luck.

I signed the piece of paper, and went home with my first car. It's nothing special, but it'll do for now.
Hopefully I'll at least get a podium finish tomorrow.

Nice chapter. 👍 Just one thing: Why he has to start in last. I know that in GT4 you always start in last expect for championship races but you didn't explain what that has to do with his brother. I'm just here to annoy you.
