I've been wanting to see the physics of the Time Trial demo, as well as the Mercedes and BMW demos patched in to GT5 at some point. But it occurred to me a little while ago that I could try the same thing in GT5, and should. So as a "bedtime snack," I grabbed a stock 350Z I had on hand - close enough to the 370 for gubmint work, slapped on some Comfort Mediums, which I recall were the tires of the TT demo, and went to Practice Mode.
My eyes began to open wider and wider. The similarity to the Time Trial demo is uncanny. I watched all 17 laps of my replay. My time is about 20 seconds off of my TT times, but then I didn't practice it for a week. But it did recreate my initial TT times almost exactly. There are niggling differences. You can be slightly harder on the gas for instance, and there are more options now. But for those who lived in that Time Trial for months, give it a try in GT5. You might enjoy it as much as I did.
