I just ordered a force feedback wheel for my desktop, and I was wondering on what PC racing games the force feedback works best. I'm just looking for your opinions. I've used google. :P I bought a Logitech MOMO Force, if that influences your picks any...

Heh, I also just got a Momo Force and was wondering the same thing...I wouldn't mind knowing about some good racers...:)

from what i heard colin mcrae 2 is really good, i'd imagine some of the F1 2002 mods would have it pretty good, and i'd also look at SODA offroad racing if u can still find it, leadfoot might be neat, i'd also take a look at dirt track racing, prolly the sprint car edition, but for use i think colin mcrae 2 or even 3 if it's out yet would be the most benificial for force feedback. imagine feelin' the difference between dirt and gravel roads. mmmmmmm too bad my computer can't run them. other wise i'd really have no life

ive got Colin mcrae 2 and a wheel, and IMHO i dont think they mix......at all

ive also read reviews about colin mcrae 3 and they say the same
that the wheel doesnt work well with it....i will be getting colin mcrae in a few days and i will test it

True, CMR 2 is just horrible with a wheel...:yuck: I tried the day I got the wheel...and I was just shocked.

All of the DTR series is good for wheels.

BTW FF doesnt feel like real life, in real life there is no feedback, cept for the wheel gettin gstiffer and looser, thats why i turn mine off. :)

There is feedback in real life. You just have to be going really fast to notice it. It's more noticeable off road.

Thanks for all your opinions guys!

What games do you currently have that will support the force feedback wheel?

Do you like playing racing games better on the computer than on the console format?

Advantages/Disadvantages?

huh I'll be i read a review of some wheel and they said that colin mcrae was the best they'd seen for a ff wheel, oh well i'll take that sites review's with a grain of salt now

I don't know. The wheel hasn't arrived yet. Supposed to get here tomorrow. Yayz! It'll probably take me a couple of weeks to form an opinion.

IMHO computer racing games are better, the hardware is ussually much higher quality, and the games are more realistic, when's the last time u saw a real good wheel for a PS2 or a xbox for that matter, although i am curious as to why microsoft hasn't pushed thier force feedback wheel for xbox? i mean it's a pc pretty much USB connections, that's a decent sturdy FF wheel why don't they port it over, i'd be happy, but no all i can find are the cheap mad catz or whatever wheels, i'm not wastin' money on another wheel for a console till they are at least sturdy, lol still got the original thrustmaster T1, and i've still got the nascar pro wheel and peddle combo too, had to replace a potentimeter on each of them but still excelent wheels, i guess a FF back one will be next no clue as to which one i'll buy yet, asthough there are some that are about 400 or 500 dollars i've seen around the net, i think thomas steering wheels TSW or soemthign like that, they look SWEEEEEEEEET!!!

F1 '99-'02. The best F1 racing game ever. All the drivers, cars, etc. Plus, awesome graphics and some of the best damage modeling ever.

The Logitech Force Feedback GT3 wheel isn't that good? Yeah, right. I'm convinced that the GT4 wheel will be one of the best wheels ever. For anything.

The GT3 isn't as good as the MOMO force. The GT4 wheel will rock though, despite the fact it doesn't have real leather. Sadly, I don't think that Logitech plans on having PC support for it.

Why would they have PC support when it will force people to buy two wheels that have the money to do so....

IceCold4x4,

Thanks for your opinion! I can definately see the advantages that you pointed out. Madcat stuff is all there is around here. It would be handy if they made a universal wheel like Madcats MC2 wheel that would work for any of the major consoles, with a USB option for the computer.

The better question is: What racing games aren't force feedback. Every single racing game I've bought in the last 3 years is force feedback, I can't imagine an PC game maker shipping without it. Heck there are even FPS that have force feeback for the 1 or 2 rumble mice on the market.
