Really looking forward to seeing this car. They produced a great midfield car last year, cant wait to see how/what they've developed.

What are you guys talking about, that is Di Resta's happy face dont you see the smile from ear to ear. It's on the inside :sly:.

Speaking of the car, the livery for it has already been shown a few month back.

Do you have a link?

The only livery other than the 2011 car from last season is this

And thats painted on a 2007 car

Personally, I like the livery now. Nice to be visually reminded of the India part.

This is my 2nd most anticipated car. Hoping theyve done a good job! I really want to see them start to tangle with Renault/Lotus and Merc.

Same. I hope they destroy Renault/Lotus every single race.

Is Force India more aligned with McLaren or Mercedes?
I know McLaren has some of its juniour engineers over there, but DiResta has the whole DTM/Mercedes thing. And it's still a Mercedes engine...

Thoughts? Solid answers?

That was a special donated car not the livery we can expect for the 2012 car. It was just a one off for charity and they asked that guy to paint it, he suppose to be some famous car artist if I remember the story behind it correctly.

Dexter Brown is the name you are looking for

Thanks Justin

EDIT:

@MaxPower

Sorry for not getting you the link, I searched all over F1 fanatic for an hour and a half for the livery. I know I saw it but sadly I can't put forth proof. From what I remember it looked like last years livery just more digital on a silhouette car. Meaning it had longer rectangular graphics and more square edges.

The front is highly weird as if they photoshopped two cars together, I really like the mid to rear section but the front nose is worse than ferrari or Caterham. Also what is with the frong wing, it looks sort or like a jigsaw puzzle.

See look at the front wing, the plates coming down that connect it to the nose aren't completely in contact with the wing section. Only coming about half way unlike the other three released cars. I wonder how this will affect the structure and/or function of it.

The nose looks similar to Caterham's, otherwise the sidepod and front wing looks pretty basic. The camer pod thing is further to the front of the nose.

I actually kind of like it. When Ferrari and Caterham used a stepped nose, it kind of felt like they were doing it because they had to. Given the choice, they would iron it out and just keep a high nose. But Force India have run with it, and they've got a very unique shape out of it. I get the feeling that this is something that they could have come up with on their own, even if the regulations didn't force them into it. And with that bright and bold livery, it's going to be hard to miss the car.

The sidepod looks to be similar sculpting to the McLarens though the inlet projects further down. Interesting exhaust. I wonder if it's legal? Looks like the exhaust is blowing a winglet underneath the main wing.

Actually, I'd question the legality of that winglet and of the bare carbon fiber canard on the nose...

Wow, the mustache is really far on front! The stepped-nose is no doubt almost similar looking to Caterham's but the mustache quite interesting. Used to be on the side of the nose cone but now really far in front. Legality is questionable...

The front wing support struts are not fully connected to the nose and the molding only connects them half way with over hang on the remaing half. How do you call that normal?

I'm worried it could snap after the car reached 160kmh+... :scared:

Because the rules allow for struts that are longer than they have been in the past, but totally attaching them to the front wing would require the nose to be even longer to fit it all in without the front wing touching the front wheels.

Why? It's about the same as the 2011 williams

I'm sure if it proves to be a force of great results two things will happen: 1. All teams will follow (or most) and adopt it or 2. Teams will come together to see it banned and/or the FIA.

Or possibly a cheap way of making it flex :sly:

OR make thinner struts? Also Ferrari don't seem to have that problem with their new car, thus FI might have found some advantage to it. Just saying.
