Forced Induction+Fuel Economy?

The GTI is only turbo'd? Then the twincharged (supercharged and turbocharged) GT still gets good economy.

In the end OEM don't care what economy you get at high RPM and loads even if it is overkill.

But heck, it seems that running ultra-rich is the OEM solution to almost anything...

Yeah, my car with stock map run down into the high 10's AFR at high load and revs on the dyno, although prior I did just bump up fuel pressure slightly (as were ready to tune for high boost and wanted some extra 'room' with stock injectors) so it probably would have been in the 11's which is still really rich.

but yeah on idle and low loads it was always stoich or nearby out of factory.

that's because it has above mentioned clutch system that disengages the supercharger and re-routes the air past the supercharger to the turbo with fancy flap system in the piping as soon as the supercharger is out of efficient RPM range.

Yeah, at high RPM, at low RPM it's always the supercharger active, and that's the one active when driving economically, so you might as well say it's supercharged and gets good economy.

but supercharger the is very small and is not geared for high volume boost, it is a very mild boosting for low end response, its friction will be at a minimum for a supercharger.

Nothing like you would expect on a 300kw engine.

Maybe not a 300kw 4 pot :sly: On mine running minimal boost like that one- it would make at least 200kw after the other mods I'm doing first. Probably more.

Well I doubt that 1.4 supercharger even makes positive boost, it just helps reduce pumping losses and the extra exhaust gases spools up the turbo a almost instantaneous boost.

but yeah It wouldn't take a whole lot of boost to make 200kw's at the fly with all supporting mods.
