Couldnt find a right thread for this, as the physics thread seems to be pretty much dead and this is not purely physics related. Please move if needed.
I havent been "studying" the beta in detail that much - more just enjoyed driving. There has been this weird feel bothering me since the beginning when going off track. The car feels too easy to drive/recover from grass. Off track also should feel a bit more "swampy" i think. (sorry for the professional vocabulary there)
I put some thought in it and tested few simple things to realize the problem thats bothering me the most. I drive without aids excluding ABS. Yet even if i dry the car wont let wheels spin freely off track.
I have noticed the car wont accelerate out of a corner either as one would expect when flooring accelerator - this might be similar issue.
Here is a simple video. I floor the gas on grass, and as soon as I hit 2nd gear the car stops spinning wheels.
I know Citroen 2CV might do that but GR.4 Alfa?? I also noticed the thing is very different on / off track. I was deliberately "drifting" the car from grass to track and back on 2nd gear. The wheels were spinning freely on track, but as soon as i hit the grass the tcs hits.

And Im using a G29 wheel so no DS4 optimization should be holding hand there.
EDIT: have to still test without ABS if its somehow connected, but that would be even more weird.
The game in general feels good as long as one stays ON track excluding the automatic accelerator feather mid curve), but off track physics and forced aids are something very differend.
Im still happy with the game, but please stop holding my hand GTS..
and BTW - the bouncing off track seems to be random artificial effect - not much to do with the terrain it self..
PPS. I think there could be a full sub forum under Gran Turismo Sport -forum for physics conversation.
