Ford and Volkwagen Potential Merger

I really don't care what happens, as long as someone interesting, non-SUV/CUV vehicles are made by Ford in the future. Because as it stands right now, especially after hearing news that the Ranger Raptor won't make it to the US, Ford is one of the most generic and uninteresting auto brands out there.

That's pretty unlikely. With Ford axing everything but the Mustang car wise, I can't see them bringing anything sedan or coupe to the US for at least 10 years.

I knew it was a possibility, but I didn't think Ford would be stupid. The issue is probably the diesel engine and that Ford is refusing to put it in the US Ranger for some reason.

I'm not sure where Ford went so wrong. It has all the ingredients to be a good brand. The EcoBoost line of engines are great and are well marketed, the F-150 sells quicker than anything, and it got a pretty good boost among the Murica faithful when it didn't accept government bailouts in 2008 (even though it did).

I'm guessing it's biggest problem is that it banks everything off the F-150.
