Although we have the rally version, I would love a premium road version.

Also these YB engines need to have a higher maximum output when fully tuned. Not the 500 odd that the rally Escort gets.

From wiki

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was a sports derivative and rally homologation special of the fifth generation European Ford Escort. It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship, in which it competed between 1993 and 1998. It was available as a road car from 1992-96 in very limited numbers. It was instantly recognisable due to its large "whale tail" rear spoiler. The main selling point was the CosworthYBT engine, a highly tunable turbocharged 2-litre engine which had an output of 220 PS (162 kW; 217 hp) in standard trim. Tuning companies have achieved power outputs of even over 1,000 hp.[1] It was also widely acknowledged to have excellent handling.

Well, the one we have is the WRC, which is technically different from the proper (Group A) Escort Cosworth even though it's based on it. Personally I like the old Group A cars more than WRC cars, as the homologation model you could buy from the dealer was closer to the racing version. Also because the Escort Cossie is a 90s icon and was one of my favourite cars as a kid, I would love to see it in GT (preferrably both road and Group A rally versions).

Yes yes yes road car escort cossy tunable to 600hp thts not to gready lol

Atleast 600 lol. I'm sorry, but I've been in and around a few big power cossies, and I'm yet to experience anything as raw as the 600bhp that shoves you into the horizon when these things come on boost. Absolutely disgusting. I'm yet to experience one with more power. But I've seen many with 700+ and atleast a few knocking on the door of 1000.

Mhmmmmm

Tht s a fair comment but to have a realiable cossy ur on th limit at tht horse power any thing above tht is pushing boundries of wht a race engine at tht capacity can cope with . Harvey gibbs has not long built a race e engine for charlie shaws mk2 focus cosworth an its over 950 hp so it will be tested on race, trakdays not jus a blast up th strip as i have seen a greek escossy with 1200 hp but its only a drag engine for short blasts down th 1/4 mile also an italian sapphire with 1000 hp but drag car only ;-)

I couldn't agree more mate.

But this is a game. And engine rebuilds cost fake money 👍:D

I'm sure with that sort of power, it would be horrible to drive without a serious anti-lag and air injection system keeping things on-boost.

But again, it's a game. And I love the idea of having a car that could be tuned to around 600 horses as a track monster. Then have a 1000bhp version for annoying the drag boys and veyron loving 12 year old.

IRL it would be the track monster that I'd build. As I agree, it would be far more reliable and practical in that state.

You made me remember this video. Enjoy:tup:

ETA

that Escort looks lovely. Looks like lots of fun.

This should be included in the next game. Without question. Such a beautiful and legendary piece of machinery.

P.S. thread title should have the RS included in the name (Ford Escort RS Cosworth). Thank you. 👍
