This is Derek Tyndall's Thunder Saloon special, a Jaguar XJ220 in a MkV Escort RS Cosworth shell. Debuting in 1993, and competing in the Thundersaloons championship, the former rally driver decided to replace his 6R4 with a slightly more ambitious creation. Derek took a standard MkV Escort RS Cosworth and managed to shoehorn TWR JV6 unit it - packing upwards of 600hp, the car was extremely fast, but ultimately proved terribly unreliable. It achieved a surprising best finish of 4th, since making it to the end of a race was often the only goal for Derek.

The car has recently been fully rebuilt, and now competes in club races across the UK.
